Over all you would be wasting time to avoid eponas song. Come on now it only takes 5-10 mins to get epona and on the other hand it takes atleast twice that to avoid the foot poes as an adult. on another note you can just jump the gorge in gerudo valley instead of taking time to whip out your hook/longshot and latch on to the target epona will save you time approx 3 mins each area. Plus while on her you take no damage so you can use her to save a little hp for the ever so annoying Dark Link.
