Ah okay I figured there was something I was missing, I thought that damage OI could be done with any source of damage but I guess not.

You can get a heart piece stuck in your chest with Walking While talking just like GlitchesAndStuff's old fire arrows trick (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkDSjckp4uA). I used the boomerang to bring the Lake Hylia Heart Piece down near some out of bounds water and drowned in the oob water with a fairy to get walking while talking with a tektite and the heart piece. This acts similarly to the Fire arrow trick. It also gives weird text when surfacing water. It can give Egg text, crash, and distorted heart pieces.  Which item you get when you re-enter the water seems to depend on the last item you used. Using different trade items also have different results.

Also, this is a new Heart Piece duplication method because when you enter water again, you get another heart piece. Unfortunately, this can only be done once per heart piece, as the heart piece in your chest disappears from the map after resurfacing once.

Effects (all of them can sometimes crash):
-Catching a fish in a bottle gives Pocket Egg Text (doesn't actually give the egg. This is just the first and default Text box in the game)
-Showing some Adult trade items will give distorted heart pieces.
-Every other item gives normal heart pieces.


This trick should also be possible with picking up Deku Sticks and Deku Nuts for the first time, but I'm not sure where you could do it.

I found a strange glitch today when I was messing around with Darunia, where after I skipped the cut scene I could reactivate it with navi or the ocarina and then talk to Darunia, which makes him talk to you as though you are child link (since that's the only time in normal game play when you can talk to Darunia by pressing a in front of him). I don't know if this could have any use, but I thought it was cool so I uploaded it. Possibly, if somebody could find a way to play saria’s song in front of Darunia during this maybe he would give you the Goron bracelet? I'm not really sure. If that worked, then it might be useful in bingos.

I found a couple of things recently, no videos of either yet.

- HESS with just 1 damage frame by using a short ledge to interrupt your roll
- Messing with the ability to delay the 'get item' animation, I can swim past ruto's letter to set my 'get item' byte to the value of the letter and then play the 'Get Item' animation, thus giving me ruto's bottle. This (if I can find a way to consistently avoid crashes) should mean ruto's letter w/o scale

WWT method in zoras river, not sure if will be any use. Climb up the ladder to reach the chicken, damage it till its one hit away from activating its cutscene. Pick it up, jump towards the frogs text box, drop the chicken mid air and jump slash, with correct timeing you will hit the chicken, activating the cutscene and the text box will activate at the same time, once cutscene ends you can walk.

Ps: Im guessing this is known, but if you hold the shield button while in water ,target so link will actually pull out the shield, release Z and keep the shield out, once hit you get a super slide.(also tested in zoras river)

I was messing around with that new Lost Woods to Deku Tree WESS (vid here http://youtu.be/XzC3_4ccSug) and potentially found an alternative setup:

1. Climb the fence above the waterfall/ lake
2. Facing the Lost Woods entrance, stand above and slightly to the right of the 2nd to last fence post, Link's left foot should be above it
3. In first person, align the left edge of your A button with the corner to the right of the Lost Woods entrance/sign, your goal is to have Link's head fit perfectly "inside" the entrance log when you hold Z
4. Side hop, jumpslash, ESS, etc.

It's not as precise as the setup in the video but it could potentially save some seconds over entering and exiting the Lost Woods.

No recordings, I'm just starting out so the WESS is too difficult for me to fully execute... so I figured I'd write out the steps and welcome anyone who wants to test/record it.

Might be old/useless but...

If you use an item that Link will hold over his head (trade item/bean) while the title logo for the area you're entering is being displayed, Link will lock whatever he's doing until the screen fades out.

Hey, I'm new and wanted to know if there is any significance in this small visual bug. I wanted to see if we can do ocarina items using a bottled fairy and an empty bottle. The bug is, when you have the empty bottle out in your hand, then do a backflip, and in mid air press the button with the bottled fairy, the bottle in your hand turns blue while in the air. At least this happens in my emulator (mupen on windows 64 on zelda oot v1.0). The bottle reverts back to a clear bottle when landing the ground, or if the jump is interrupted by a damage source (e.g. big skulltula)

Just wanted to ask if anyone's ever noticed this before, and if there's any significance. Is there a way to interrupt the blue bottle switching to a clear bottle so Link still holds a blue bottle at the end of the jump? That would be cool, because it means Link can do ocarina items without bugs in the any% route, saving over 2 minutes.
