Thanks RingRush, this looks like it will help.
and Thank Goodness hovering is banned in this competiton, because I don't get it at all!
Just one more question:
How would I get the savestate I downloaded to load on the emulator?

Never mind. I got it working. It turns out that I shouldn't use a European version of the rom...

yeah, you did very nice for a beginner, much better than I when I started. would be cool to see you entering the next task as well  Wink

@kosmicd12
you forgot to use B to press the heart piece text away quickly  Grin
you probably could have gotten 5th place, if you did this right.
*Cough cough*

So I've decided to change the goal a bit.

We leave the "go to Haunted Wasteland" part out, mainly because the task is already long enough without it. Furthermore that part is definitely not beginner friendly. It would probably cause a lot of trouble to many people.

Ok, i was working on this task, and i decided to send the video to my friend so i can see what he thinks of it so far. He watched it and said "unless i am crazy, after you exit the fortress, you re-enter it." So i checked it out my movie and it played fine. he screen shared it on skype, and i saw link doing things that i did not do. So we checked out the inputs and they are identical to the frame, yet it was not displaying the same. Anyone have any ideas as to why this is?

Awww... the gate skip is the only thing I can do though...
Though I still don't know how I'll get to the heart piece. Ah well. That's half the fun Smiley

Well, this certainly isn't turning out too well right now...
Is the Megaflip through the wall blocking the heart piece even possible without Nayru's Love?

Alright, I may just give up for this one. I've tried Megaflipping through the barrier, that didn't work, I tried the Jumpslash technique, and that didn't work either. While I really enjoyed making the parts up to this point, I just can't get this one. So unless someone can help me with this, I'm out for this one. Sorry.

Since the deadline is the 26th, might not enter. Have to wait till the next task is announced. Until then I'll enjoy the runs published. The next task is a 100% go for me. Just watching the published competitions made me want to enter. Tongue

Edit: Ok, TASing comparison.
Snowboard Kids <--> OOT
Simple enough <--> I lost track of timing. o.o

I TRIED to see how to go about it, then seeing the TAS competition vids again, I think I'll need more practice than ever to even get one trick down. Not to mention, why the heavy slowdown when I load the state given? (Just deeply curious about it)

AWWWWWW YEEAAAAHHHH!!! I FINALLY got it! I'll send it in to Nahoc ASAP.
Not that I'll get any good placement or anything, but at least I did a few cool tricks in there Smiley

Before you record your movie/segment, you'd have to begin movie for the beginning of the trick or movie your doing. Then when your done, stop movie, and play it.

However, if it's just a video output thats not showing up when trying to view, it's common that it happened when your trying to record on a Vista or Win 7. If thats the case, simply right-click mupen and then properties. Then under the compatibility tab, check 'Disable desktop composition'. Nahoc helped me with this problem.

Hope this helped. Remember, the only files you need to submit is the .m64 and the save state file that comes along with it after the recording you wanted.

Thanks, that will probably help with AVI capturing. I already have recorded a few m64's before this, but the problem is that I don't know how to re-record, and I'm not sure if either of my normal rerecording or pause bug fix Mupen variants have a built-in rewind feature (if not, that will be annoying but I think it would work ok anyway).

Sadly it is a bit too late to start now, but if I somehow have enough free time for some weird reason, I'll try to join the next task.
