Back to back race in september

Once again, there will be a back to back race this year.
this year, there'll be forever and me organizing the race.
we will have some changes in concerning the commentary, trying to push speedrunning a little more towards the surface of gaming.
First off, about the main information:

Rules:
The race is held on SpeedRunsLive and by this it has to follow the terms of ZeldaSpeedRuns.
These say:

Emulators of any kind are banned except for: Project64 1.6 and Project64 1.7
Any other emulator is banned due to inaccuracy of the standard settings.

Besides - any form of injected version is not allowed.
Also, it is not allowed to play the versions 1.0 / 1.1 of Ocarina of Time on emulator.

allowed versions:
- Nintendo64 1.0 / 1.1 / 1.2
- Wii Virtual Console 1.2
- Project64 (1.6 / 1.7) 1.2
- iQue 1.2 [CHI]
- Nintendo Gamecube 1.2

Process:
Once the race begins, everyone will select "Yes" right after the filescreen.
There won't be a filename for neither of the games and it does not matter if you want to play on which language version you want to play.
Once the 100% restrictions are met and the last strike on ganon is done, the game is defined as completed and the racer switches the game to Majoras mask to complete this game the same way (100%). the racer can type ".done" and hit the final split once he dealt the last strike to majoras wrath.

It is NOT allowed to confirm your file selection for Majoras Mask before Ganon is dead. You are not allowed to run the Majoras Mask opening cutscene (text, skullkid appearing etc) or play even further while ocarina of time is not beaten.
you may turn on your wii and prepare the file and select it in case you are playing on a N64 for Ocarina of time, but you are not allowed to select "Yes" before ganon is dead

Quote
THIS IS OLD
Current progress:
We need to determine a date that works for most people.
The race will be held in September on a saturday, so there aren't many dates left to use.

Dates for the race:
06th of september [3] (thiefbug, slask, Ennopp)
13th of september [3] (thiefbug, slask, Ennopp)
20th of september [5] (thiefbug, slask, phoenix, Dennis, Ennopp)
27th of september [6] (thiefbug, slask, phoenix, Dennis, Ennopp, OptimusPrimeMini)
Votes will be put in the boxes. If you don't care, It'll vote for every day.
Due to issues with the timezone, the race will start probably at 12pm EST

Possible participants:
1. thiefbug
2. Goldphnx
3. DennisBalow
4. Jimmie1717
5. V0lt_
6. FuryRising
7. Zas_
8. Kronos

17. ennopp112

Piticarus_xD (if he doesn't participate)
Pheenoh
SpeedFrog
Moltov
(Izraill)?

MM:
forever
GlitchesAndStuff
(Jimmie1717)
Keeta / Kaztalek
Pheenoh
Kejsmaster

PM's sent to:

legend:
interested
deconfirmed

Quote from: old system
unfortunately, many people who said that they will definitely participate said, that they are not going to after a while which makes the color system pointless[/SPOILER]
Extremely likely to participate
Will probably participate
Will try to participate (doesn't know)
Will try to participate, but it is unlikely
Won't participate probably
Deconfirmed
people in the participants list are not confirmed unless they're in the right color. everyone else is basically just interested and doesn't know if they can participate or not

I doubt that the votes for another date will be equally strong / much stronger than they are for this one, so I'll pin it since I need as much info asap.

If you let me I would like to do commentary. I missed the last race but I have at least some knowledge on mm and could play the noob for oot. I'm the first week or so not in germany so I couldnt guarantee to be available there but I  think i might have internet there.

I can do commentary too. What piti said, but with the games backwards. I have a good amount of knowlegde of OOT, and I can play noob for MM. I would probably have time to be on for the whole race if it's on a weekend (which will probably be since most people do work or school on weekdays).

I will try my best to participate. At this point, I'm not completely sure. If I don't have enough time, then I'd be willing to voulenteer for commentary.

well, first off we're obviously looking for commentators who obviously know what they're talking about.

about the whole newcomer thing - basically the idea was that we'd even try to get some youtubers / let's players in (in case most of the ppl agree, lol) - without their audience, obiously.
the reason is simply cause they don't know anyone - no player, no commentator, no glitches and probably only remember how they played the game.
besides they are used to talking infront of hundreds of people.
Sure - I have to admit that this is also a small attempt in getting speedrunning in general a little more towards the surface (the race will be without additional audience - but if they like it, they are probably gonna advertise for it. by talking to experienced people, they get to know that the stuff we do is not cheating and requires a bunch of knowledge and skill)
those people can also get hype in. they are not used to wrong warps, superslides or even isg. most of the stuff should be mindblowing... at least at the beginning.

I obviously don't want them in for the whole time - for about 1 or 2 hours, asking questions etc.

I would love to participate I run mainly MST and any%. Ive done 100% not too long ago watching one of zfg's run. 100% race is most definitely something I would love to do.

If anyone has any suggestions on where I could get a detailed route I will grind 100% like no other day lol

Sorry for being off topic I just would love to participate and if I can set splits for the child and adult segments Ill be able to run this more often. And it's by far my favorite category

Edit: sorry forgot to mention that I was referring to oot 100% route I'm also interested in MM route too but I'm already asking too much Smiley

npnp ^^
since it'll be in september, you still have quite some time to get decent times in both Cheesy

I'll rearrange the start post in may... writing down the rules, questions and doing some collection overview etc.

Based off of reading the process section of the startpost, I'm assuming OoT will be the first game? Or is it just an example?

nope, OoT is set as the first game right now because it was hard for the viewers to keep track of the process last time
