Hi!

My name is Corey and i've recently started speedrunning, and figured OoT any% would be a good spot.

I have run into a bit of a snag though, and can't seem to get past the gohma room glitch to the castle.
I think, as far as I can tell, I have the setup right. I can get the OO next to the warp right, etc.

The problem arises, I think, somewhere after hitting B after the camera pans.

I took this screenshot of the warp, and it is right after throwing the Deku nut, after 4 steps.

I then took a screenshot of the yourtube video guide i've been watching, and the warp seems to be larger when he throw the nut, indicating that I may be taking too long? I don't know how though, as I hold down when I press B.

Here is a video cut of me doing the whole thing, maybe you can spot the problem here~~

Here is 6 more minutes of me failing in various ways that may help solve it..

Hopefully someone has some extra time to take a look and help me out!
Would be super appreciated..

Thanks,

Corey

I think it all looks good except for the part where you target the wall.  Don't manually turn Link to face the wall.  Try just holding forward and pressing the target button.  I'm pretty sure that's your problem.  If you get the cutscene outside of the deku tree, that means you loaded too many frames, and I'm pretty sure they loaded when you manually changed the direction link is facing.
Hope that helps!

Sidehopping into the hump can mess it up, which you did in your video.

Hi there Lando.

Tokyoboi's vids are really nice (I'm learning from his MST series right now myself) but I've found better success with the method that grockey posted (hi grock!). There's almost no need for pause buffering which is really nice. The only tip I would give you that Poodle doesn't stress enough in his video (that I feel anyway) is that after the "warping" sequence has ended and the camera finishes panning and locks on to Link, that's when you want to IMMEDIATELY cancel ocarina items by hitting B and then walking to the side and use your deku etc etc... After I realized that, I found the adjustment part of the trick (after you pass the bump) to be very easy. I probably practiced this for about an hour before I got it... it can be frustrating but don't get discouraged!

Good luck!
