Hi,

I have been wondering if it is possible to beat Shadow temple without Zelda's lullaby. I'm playing N64 PAL version and at the moment I have bombs, bombchus, one bottle, hookshot and hover boots.

Quote
So I've been trying to get a consistent wrong warp for literally weeks and I'm really lost as to what I'm messing up about it. This is getting super frustrating.

I have a success rate of less than 1% (so, basically, random luck) and I've compared what I'm doing to every video I can find online and I haven't noticed any inconsistencies, so I don't even know what I need to fix.

I suspect it has something to do with how I'm entering the door. I've recorded my attempts and played them in sync with successful warps I've seen online and the setups look 100% consistent; they play synchronously. This makes me believe I'm entering the door wrong, although again, I don't know why or how.

I've uploaded a video, including inputs, here: http://cl.ly/2S103K2A0l0U

(Edit: it's possible the audio is ever so slightly out of sync. I tried to match it up the best I could and I think I did a good job, but it might still be slightly off.)

(Note: you don't have to download the video, there's a tiny link under the download button that says "view" so you can watch it in your browser.)

If anyone could tell me what I need to fix to get it to work, I would really appreciate it. Thank you!
I'm not specialist of this stuff as I have never done it but in tutorial video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAOfhr4US2s, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAOfhr4US2s&t=4m19s) the guy turns around two times instead of one as you do in your video. Hope it helps (in case you have not done it yet).

So I've been trying to get a consistent wrong warp...

Looks like you are letting the camera pan out when you don't need to, try not to ever let the camera pan out unless it's part of a setup adjustment.

Should be easiest to do use the deku->bongo wrong warp using a trade item timer. The problem is is that it's going to be a complete shot in the dark because no one bothers making setups for PAL. If you could come up with a setup yourself to get onto the blue warp in the same spot as this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6PfmneKJfI then I think the adjustment will work, but a different ocarina items setup will be needed because of PAL's shortened rolls

Japanese and English have different adjustments iirc

I have a weird problem with the Ganon fight in any%.

I have previously ran the route several times without problems, but when I recently started using a USB adapter to practise on emulator (before this I hadn't reached the Ganon fight on emu, just on console) I started having problems with the second half of the Ganon battle. The game would crash when I walked back towards Ganon after getting the master sword, and after a few tries I realised that the flame barrier was somehow burning my shield before it even started rising from the ground. Backwalking instead of rolling forwards made it less likely, but it still happened a lot. Am i doing something wrong or is this a weird emu bug?

Is it something like this? if so then yes it's an emulator problem

Edit: It's about 45 seconds into the video

As long as you are using the dive+cast method, stealing the rod should work on any version. You can always pause buffer it if you're having trouble.

You can also achieve swordless Link by skipping kokiri sword and then mounting a horse as adult Link IIRC.

Personally I find the minigame easier if you try to aim for the center of the big target, and as Epona passes by, keep shooting at it, but try to gradually move the control stick slowly to the right to keep the target in front of you all the time. Subtle movements are probably harder on VC, but just try to move the control stick very slightly and hopefully you will get smoother aim rather than jerky aim. Once you get the rhythm down, you can get all the points from that one target (although you might have to get some on the way back).

Regarding the Horseback Archery challenge, I believe I am getting closer but at same time I am getting farther. My fingers keep bumping into the C Stick and A button, is there a way to dampen the sensitivity or am I stuck?

Regarding the Kokiri Sword skipping, does that mean I would have to restart the game to activate the glitch? I don't want to have to do that.

Didn't find a good setup on youtube for getting the HP in zora's river with the boomerang. I found it kind of tricky, so I came up with this. It isn't the fastest setup ever, but it's super easy and convenient for 100% runs.

So I have been learning Any% in OoT and I'm stuck at the gohma clip glitch. I do everything I need to do, I do deku nut, stab, nut, stab, nut, then ISG, go in corner of door. I have to backflip and clip through the wall and each time I pause buffer and input the action when gohmas eye is completely open but For some reason I just cannot clip through the door. Anyone have any ideas of what I can do to get this glitch?

I want to restart the game if not to activate a No sword glitch in the Kokiri forest. Is that a good idea or should I start a new file with the glitch?

Can anyone help? What ESS position is needed for the WESS to Kakariko that Pydoyks used in his latest record?

Right ESS. You have to press Z rather quick to get a nice angle and therefore a high speed.  Smiley

Is there any huge difference between the Japanese N64 cart and the Japanese VC version? I don't want to mess with my Wii so I figured I'd go with a Japanese cart. Which would be recommended?

VC is faster, because of faster loading and less lag.

If you want to do 100%, a Japanese V1.0 or V1.1 card is faster, due to early Eyeball frog, which doesn't work on VC, because it's V1.2.

Now I'm not sure is talk of softmodding is prohibited (if so, my apologies), but is softmodding a Wii hard to do?
