Hi, i want to start speedrunning OoT. I dont have a console so i decided to start with Emulator and maybe get a console later.
I use project64 and its works really well exept for the pause screen - it takes forever to load. I tried version 1.6 and 1.7.. no difference. But I saw some streamers playing on emulator with normal pause screen. How can I fix this?

I am having this same problem with Mupen64. Since you are using Project64, I believe you have a wider variety of plugins. I suggest you play around with the different video plugins and see which ones give the best results.

For speedruns (seen from the zsr rules in the leaderboards) you can only use the standard pj64 plugins, that being the default plugin that comes with the emu.
I use the standard Pj64 1.7 plugin and it works fine, keep in mind that pause buffering lag is completely different from Wii VC pause lag, not sure if that's the problem you're having with the pause buffering though, but pause buffering on emu is not that great hahah Tongue

You probably have a bad video plugin, go in the settings and try to use the most recent "Jabo version x" you have

Video plugin is "Jabo's Direct3D8 1.7.0.53". Is there a better one?

You may have Jabo's Direct3D8 1.7.0.57-ver5 or Jabo 1.6.1 those are the best (I don't about the one you're talking about tho) if you feel the pause buffering is still slow well... This is just emu, you can't do anything else ^^'
