I was thinking the other day about doing a glitchless run just for fun, but then I though maybe I should do no OoB instead, so I can still do some tricks. Then I realized maybe we should figure out what is allowed in either category, so this discussion will be for determining that.

My thoughts on no OoB:
-no tornado rod clipping that involves walking on walls (you can do gales skip for instance)
-no hookshot clipping (ore mine skip)
-no portal clipping (desert palace skip)

(What's out: do the hyrule mine, fight skull woods boss, get DP BK, maze skip, big bomb early)
(What's in: gales key skip, power glove skip)

My thoughts on glitchless:
-no tornado rod clipping, period
-no damage boosting (power glove skip)
-no dash slide
-no eyeball duplication

Little techs that are glitches such as the turtle rock sequence break would still be allowed. You could still do the precise bow shot and skip a key in swamp palace. Going through the flipping walls in dark palace without merging would be allowed as well Lastly, skipping spawning the enemies near the master ore in thieves' hideout would be allowed.

Leave your thoughts on these definitions. It's just something for fun and these should not become actual categories (yet Tongue).

For glitchless, I think:
-Dash slides are not a glitch and should be allowed (HoG trick, swamp sequence break, bk early, minboss skip, etc.) in most cases
-Damage boosting isnt a glitch and shouldnt be banned, but specific cases that "break the storyline" (early death mountain, early flippers, etc.) or that go out of bounds should be banned. This stays consistent with the glitchless rules for other zelda games.
-Recoil jumps are the same deal as damage boosts. Not a glitch, but things like trails skip should absolutely be banned
-I agree that tricky arrow shots like turtle rock sequence break should be allowed (they arent glitches)
-All out of bounds and clipping should be banned

I've done a speedrun within the rules of No-Glitch, time is 2:46.11 (improved a lot of times and this is my last one so far).

I think the quick key (room with 2 slow moving platforms) in Skull Woods should be allowed even though it involves sort of glitching. The game doesn't count your spawn location when under the platform.

I haven't done all legal tricks yet, so this current time is easy to beat Smiley
