Why is it faster to do the Earth Temple first then the Wind Temple?

If it even is faster. You make the same amount of island stops/trips if you do the Wind Temple first then Earth Temple.

So I was just wondering if someone could explain why doing it one way is faster than the other.

Im pretty sure that you are forced to do Earth temple first.

I see this misconception a lot actually, but yeah Makar doesn't appear behind the waterfall until you complete Earth Temple. A lot of people seem to misremember this from their childhood as being optional or something.

You don't need the Mirror Shield in the Wind Temple. But you could use the Hookshot somehow in The Earth Temple. I remember I once wanted to do the Wind Temple first so I could skip the Stalfos fight in the Earth Temple. I guess this is why you are forced to do the Earth temple first.

speaking of this, has anyone tried beating the wind temple first with cheats to see what happens?

Yeah, you get the Full Master Sword and can continue on the game to Hyrule, break the barrier, beat the game. The only reason you have to beat ET is to unlock WT.
