OoT3D Races

Alright, so me and a couple of other guys (you know who you are) have been doing some OoT3D races, mainly on the weekend. I'm thinking we should start making this a weekly thing because, I don't know about you guys but, I like to race. If you've never raced before that's fine, someone will show you waht to do and all that stuff. Anyways, what times work for you guys? I think it'd be pretty cool if we did Saturday night Any% NG+ races followed by some boss gauntlet races. Maybe even throw in an MST here and there.

What time was it for you when we were racing yesterday?

Around 1 pm (13:00) so about 9-10 ten hour difference.

It was like 3:00 or 4:00 AM for me so maybe a late night race for us (12:00 AM) could be an early race for you (7:00 or 8:00 AM)?

Dude Im down for racing this game whenever I have the time. Although most of the time I'd like to avoid ng+ races because of the huge non-racing friendly risk.

Although it would be good motivation for me to take that record Nook

Usually afternoon s don't work too well for me depending on what you mean by afternoon. I'm usually good around 8 PM till whenever.

I kind of agree about the whole no NG+ Gamestabled. I mean we should definitely race NG+ but maybe throw in some no NG+ no WW Any%s

***we won't/can't start until SRL is done with maintenance which was said to take around 15-20 minutes, but you never know. We'll probably start around 12:30. The more the merrier!

I feel I should post the rules we agreed on as well.

Timing begins from file select and ends when Master Sword is obtained. Dungeons must be completed in normal order. Must obtain slingshot, bombs, and boomerang. Cannot attack with Deku Sticks. TSC, WW, and NG+ are banned. I think that ZL cs skip should be banned as well, but that's just because I don't know how to do it Ah well, you win some, you lose some.

These are terrible rules.Literally the only parts I agree with are the file select and NG+. Just do child dungeons (timing ends on obtaining ocarina of time)

I'm in but I still need to work out a route and garbage so I wont be ready for a few races...

and I personally agree with GS on the no NG+ stuff..My favorite would be either MST or Any% no NG+

but I wouldn't mind doing a child run.

stabled, these rules were discussed in the IRC with almost the whole OoT3D team there. the one thing everyone agreed on was doing the dungeons in proper order, so that needs to stay.

Here's a new set of rules: Timing begins from file select and ends upon obtaining Master Sword. Dungeons must be completed in proper order. Must obtain slingshot, bombs, and boomerang. WW and NG+ are banned.

That opens up routing a bit more and doesn't restrict Deku Stick use. I liked the old rules better because it was almost like a glitchless with bombslides allowed, but whatever.

I wager 10 ZSR Bucks that I will come firmly in second place.

I have to agree that restricting attacking with deku stick and no TSC is silly. I like standard dungeon order though and no WW. That really seems like it to me All of those other rules just make things far too complicated.

That's basically what it is. The fact we're required to get slingshot just ensures no one will get hung up on slingshot skip in DC.

So I guess we're agreed on the rules then? Okay. See you all tonight at 12:30! (ish)
