OK mzx, here's the last bit of text that needs to be replaced on the versions page (this is the bottom section):

Replace "Changes" with "Aesthetic Changes".

Ganondorf’s Blood

In version 1.2 (N64) and onward, Ganondorf & Ganon’s blood was changed from red to green. This was probably to maintain an “E for Everyone” rating.

Fire Temple Song

In versions 1.0 & 1.1, the Fire Temple song contains religious-themed vocals from the Muslim faith. One line, translated into English, states: “I bear witness that there is no god but Allah”. In versions 1.2 (N64) and onward the song was replaced with what seems to be a remix of the Shadow Temple’s song. This new song contains no discernable lyrics, only Gregorian-style moans and a ghostly female chorus can he heard. Both versions of the song can be downloaded below:

Symbol Change

In all N64 versions a crescent moon & star symbol is present on the mirror shield, dungeon blocks, and Gerudo signs in the game. In version 1.2 (GCN) and onward, this symbol was replaced with the diamond-shaped Gerudo symbol that was used in Majora’s Mask. The symbol was most likely swapped-out because of its striking resemblance to the symbol on many country flags (Pakistan's, Algeria's, Azerbaijan's, Turkey's, etc), and stepping on a country's symbol of "progress and knowledge" could have been controversial.  It’s worth noting that the editors neglected to replace the old symbol in the beginning and ending rooms of the Dampe grave race in all versions.

The only thing left to do is to read over the page once more and correct grammar/spelling errors (I noticed a few) and add pictures.

Alec may be able to elaborate on this better but here are a few version differences that should be noted:
-Text Speed: English vs. Japanese: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atCLqVMsAxc
-Morpha's Color
v1.1, v1.2 v1.0
-Stealing the Rod using hoverboots
-Deku Stick on B and Saving:
if you savewarp after stealing the rod, the sword that was equipped when you stole the rod gets deleted from your inventory. when you reload the save you will have stick on B.

if you savewarp AGAIN (with the MS missing from inventory):

on 1.1, 1.2, GCN, and VC - it automatically equips MS again
on 1.0 - you keep stick on B for as many savewarps as you want.

this is due to Nintendo fixing the oldest "Swordless Link" method where you savewarp out of the Ganon battle when Ganon knocks away your sword.
Also, what version of OoT is VC?

It's v1.2. And no, the ROM is not a modified v1.2, it's just v1.2. The altered Gerudo symbol is caused by the emulator itself; if you extract the ROM and play it in, say, Mupen, you'll see that the game is completely identical to N64 v1.2. You know those people who hack different textures into the game? That's what Nintendo did, basically.

There are slight differences caused by emulation (like being able to pull out Deku Sticks without crashing the game), which means that you have to make some distinction between VC and N64 v1.2. But don't be confused into thinking Nintendo touched the ROM at all.

More updates to the Version Differences page:

Add "Version 1.2 (PAL)" after "Version 1.2 (Non-N64)"

Changes in PAL version:
-The game runs at 5/6 the speed of the NTSC version.
-Link's roll is shorter than on the NTSC version. Because of this, certain tricks that involve rolls are different or don't work on the PAL version:
-The timing for superslides is far stricter on the PAL version of the game. In addition, supersliding as adult displays some odd behavior -
certain larger areas (such as Hyrule Field near the castle) do not allow supersliding as adult at all unless certain camera angles are used.
-Megaflipping is completely different on the PAL version of the game. Whereas in the NTSC version you can get megaflips if your shield makes
contact with damage or if link's body (with shield up) makes contact with a constant source of damage (such as bomb damage), the PAL
version only allows megaflipping using the latter method. Therefore, certain tricks, such as the Deku Baba megasidehop in Deku tree or the
original forest escape method, do not work on the PAL version of the game.
-This version appears on the original Nintendo 64 version and on the Wii Virtual Console version (not on the Nintendo Gamecube version of the game).

It's gotten to the point where there's almost too many version differences to list. I think we should stay vague with stuff like Morpha's ball color.

Also, people might disagree with me but I think we should keep NTSC-J and PAL specific details off the page to prevent clogging as well. A few notes here and there is OK but we don't need half a page of info for every version when there's only a few differences really worth noted.

Most people checking the site want to know if they have: Red blood, Islamic song, if they can hover OOB, and how many times they can save in an RBA playthough. That said, I'd be all for archiving every version difference we know of on a separate page and putting a link to it on our main versions page for people who want to know all the changes.
