The last time this was raced, it was generally agreed upon that Shadow should come before Spirit.

How different would it be if Spirit was first?

I like the sound of it. It would be nice if it was all beaten backwards as an adult since that is now possible. So something like escaping the forest, bottle, well chus, and then DoT skip.

The last time this was raced, it was generally agreed upon that Shadow should come before Spirit.

Only because the race was specifically to obtain the stones and medallions in the reverse order that they appear on the file screen. The Light Medallion appears last, then the Shadow Medallion second last, etc.

Also, we hadn't banned entering dungeons out of the reverse order, mostly because some entrants were bad and wouldn't be able to do tricks with bombchu.

Allright.

Tbh i have allways seen Spirit the last temple Even though i know that the shadow medallion matches in the order
I were thinking about that you wouldn't be allowed to go child after pulling the master sword, but then you will have to BA over the Light Arrows CS, which appears after you have beated Spirit and Shadow temple.

But the JJB as adult seems kinda overkill. (but would be cool to find a place to use this trick :D)
and since i wouldn't allow BA (by BA it's both BA and RBA since you would have to get bottle on B which includes you RBA'ing once) So tecnicly if BA were allowed you could just RBA bombs and then all the temple's would be easy as fuck :(

So i would l prefer "No BA"

also if we're takeing which route would be coolest. Shadow vs Spirit first.
Shadow would allow us to have hoverboots first which would well do nothing in spirit other than if you got the hoverboots as child you could go and plant a bean and the bean trick to get mirror shield and which could allow us to skip the silver Guantlets but we need them in forest temple so nothing is skipped.

the other way around you can get to spirit temple as child and get spirit Chu's and silver guantlets (we will get the well chu's before entering spirit temple since about 35 chu's is needed to complete all the temples in reverse order + this way we could skip hylian shiled and play it cool with mirror shield :D

Anyone else have some idea's why we should do shadow or spirit first? ;P

I always did Spirit first.  It makes the route a bit tougher anyway.  With Shadow first you'll have hovers for silver block.  Spirit first means that you need to get silver gaunts (or do some dumb impossible trick).  To get silver gaunts without sling, you'll either have to do Lizalfos hover or just get 10 GS and carpet chus (or BotW, but I always "ban" it and Ice Cavern).

You don't.  No rule against going back in time.

I think shadow should be first because that's how it appears on the file select screen.

Heh, this run is SO 2009

Heh, this run is SO 2009

Unfortunatly this was abit way to easy.
I just finished it up yesterday. And the only difficult thing about this run was if you skipped BOTW chu's and went to spirit temple
(needing to Dino hover)

so if you should make this difficult for yourself then the least thing you can do is maybe to RTA
or maybe if you were going to JJB as adult. but no current known way to enter JJB with chu's only ( not that i know of i havn't really messed with the trick to enter though + you would have to move King Zora as a child )

It's possible to do this difficult and it's possible do this easy if segmented then it should be insanly easy (Execpt the Boss key skip in Water temple which i succeded doing with 5chu's

But the good thing about this run is that both good, bad and new players you can make it as challangeing as you like yourself :D

I'm really in the mood to play through OoT's dungeons again so I think I'm going to do this as a Let's Play. No-Glitch speedrun is just to hard to define, at least 1 person won't be happy with the way it goes :/.

I'll do a practice playthrough and kinda figure out a route for myself.

Oh sorry for the misunderstanding, I WAS actually referring to this reverse temple route though.

I've already started routing/playing through it, I'll let's play it when I get done.

You enter Spirit Temple as a child but you don't beat it and I thought you said once you enter it you must beat it.

No I said I can't enter any of the dungeons out of reverse order. I go to the Spirit Temple as a kid and beat the child section, then I re-enter it as adult after doing through the Door of Time. I don't enter any other dungeons until after Spirit is beaten.

wow, this takes me back. When I first came to SDA, I got interested in testing ideas for OoT because I wanted to beat the game in reverse order and awaken all the sages backwards and then dispel the barriers backwards to see if I could get the triforce (LOOOOOL). Eventually we found enough tricks to do it, that's the awesome part. So yea, this was what I was most interested in doing when I first came to SDA, and pretty much got me into glitching the game. That and fierce started finding tricks so I was like, "I'm gonna find some too". But yea, this was my idea back in the day. Kinda like when I got all 150 pokemon in my red version into the hall of fame to MAKE SURE that you couldn't get mew from that one dude in celadon or wherever it was.

Haha sounds really good. I'm pretty sure it's been possible ever since we discovered DoT skip :)
And yeah i remember getting all the pokemons in Blue :D (No mew though)
Seems like you have some pretty wierd theories haha

Good idea, LinuzDk. And I'll be sure to follow your playthrough, aleckermit!

actually the reason why i did this was becouse i wanted to do a playthough of it. and as it seems now it's going to be a LP aswell.
actually Aleckermit i have no idea what so ever why you didn't allow Sub dungeons.
I've allready done some segments and i got BOTW chu's in first segment and i will make the run more for showing of how muchs actually possible in Ocarina of time these days. it's also possible to do Water temple boss key skip with 5 chu's (just did it today :D)

I will start my LP on my channel "Zaccio"

To me, sub dungeons break the reverse order rule since they have their own intended order as well.

Also, the way I'm beating Water Temple should be more entertaining than the BK Skip way (I'll be bottle diving, getting a key early, OOB clipping to the boss key, and contortion hovering).

Instead of contortion Hovering just use http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7Xp3Ub-Fhc
I dunno if that way to get across gaps are new but certently much easier that original chu mega hover method.

I just started now and im doing live commentary and the run in segments so i can't edit or anything. It might get annoying to do live commentary at some point if i keep failing the segments but atleast the run is not that difficult :D

I'm glad that our runs are not going to be exactly the same :D
