Title: OOT: single 'session' mst run Post by: GregScarps on February 09, 2012, 04:59:41 PM So I've been Developing a single 'session' mst run for ocarina of time. What I mean is I want to make a run that doesn't allow resetting of the console. I think resetting the console, going back to the main screen and selectin your file again is a segmented run. You are ending the adventure when you goto the file select screen in my opinion.
So I've developed a run for a true single-segment run, which finishes the game with no major skips, all glitches are allowed, but it's a mst run with no resetting. Is anyone else in agreeance with my idea of a single session mst run? I think I've made a route that finishes the game within 3:15. If anyone wants to help out I'm all ears. I think what you're describing is what would be called a single segment run. To be honest, I'm not a fan of them. Savewarping (as you would in a traditional RTA run) only cuts out meaningless back tracking/overworld travelling which I see as a positive thing. I believe a lot of runs used to be single segment and have since shifted to RTA routes, so I don't think you'll get a huge amount of interest. The only reason anyone ran single segment variations of any category in this game was most likely due to SDA ruling, or unless the category was specifically created to be single segment (like the Japanese +5 BOSS Edition category). Even SDA allows RTA (they're calling it 'single segment with resets') now, so it's pretty pointless and boring to run single segment.Title: Re: OOT: single 'session' mst run Post by: GregScarps on February 09, 2012, 07:06:42 PM I don't think it's boring lol but I hear that, it does save lots of time. If SDA approves of restarting the console to save time on a single segment run, then I'll just work on doin a run with restarting then.

everything in zelda is rta these days best timing method :) |
