Title: Daily Child Dungeon Races Post by: Runnerguy2489 on January 16, 2012, 09:18:04 PM After a child dungeons race today it was discussed possibly have one scheduled on a daily basis, kind of like the Saturday Night Bingos. So I figured I'd make this thread to gadge some of the interest.
Child Dungeons is a pretty short race even for most beginners as long as you can get botw chus. There are also tutorial videos (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBP5nkuFNXk and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNrTsLPUkhI) for good routes. It's also pretty intense with a lot of racers because there are some tight finishes (top 3 finished today within 20 seconds), and every chu counts so you never know who is going to come out on top. So with some of the people in the irc race that we discussed this in, we were thinking of doing maybe 2 of these daily. You certainly don't have to show up every day. One was going to be around 3:00 PM EST for people around mid day and also for European players, since they get kind of screwed on Saturday Night Bingo. Another was going to be at around 4-4:30 PM (basically when the first one ended) for people getting home from school/work. What are people's thoughts on this? Title: Re: Daily Child Dungeon Races Post by: Link98 on January 16, 2012, 09:20:33 PM I support this motion. The times are very reasonable for both US and Euro players.

Title: Re: Daily Child Dungeon Races Post by: Kimimaru on January 18, 2012, 04:58:44 AM It ends after completing the third dungeon, correct?
Also, are we required to stream for this race? I can only play on the emulator because I'm at college and I tried very hard getting a stream up in the Halloween race but ultimately couldn't. Title: Re: Daily Child Dungeon Races Post by: cafde on January 18, 2012, 06:18:54 AM It ends when you are holding the Ocarina of Time above your ahead after completing the 3 child dungeons (meaning no RBAing odd potion).
You don't have to stream, but your times might be called into question at some point. You should be able to easily stream your desktop while xsplit is still free, though. Streaming of this race in particular isn't required (in the sense that Cosmo and Jiano's race on Saturday WILL require streaming) but streaming of emulators, as a general rule, IS required. As Cafde has mentioned, did you try xsplit? Title: Re: Daily Child Dungeon Races Post by: Maxx on January 18, 2012, 08:16:04 PM I want to race some but these times are awful. There's no way I could join one that starts before 5:30 EST, and that starts to cut into dinner time. Does anybody want to do one of these later in the evening? Maybe like 8 EST?

As Cafde has mentioned, did you try xsplit? Yes, I did try xsplit; I even think you were helping me get the stream up. Right now I see that there's a new update to the software so let's see if I have any luck with this new version. Haha, now you mention it, I was trying to help you :P Title: Re: Daily Child Dungeon Races Post by: Kimimaru on January 18, 2012, 11:24:28 PM Okay, good news! I got the stream to actually work, but unfortunately the window shows up extremely small. I tried changing the resolution on xSplit, but no luck. Any suggestions?

Title: Re: Daily Child Dungeon Races Post by: Link98 on January 20, 2012, 09:52:59 PM I'm in the daily CD race as I type this.
Title: Re: Daily Child Dungeon Races Post by: Kimimaru on January 20, 2012, 10:48:22 PM Grab the corner or your game and drag it Thanks, that helped a lot! I can play in full screen and it works just fine. There's some weird sound that comes up sometimes, but I can fix it. On a related note, we're able to reset the game if we mess up on a trick during the run, right? Title: Re: Daily Child Dungeon Races Post by: Exodus122 on January 20, 2012, 11:00:28 PM Yes
