Yo Jiano and I made a cool OoT race goal.

I want to 'cast' it similar to the Halloween race but do it better.

This is not a puzzle goal, and if you can do simple stuff like DoT skip you should be able to finish this goal.
I want a ton of entrants. But you must stream to participate.

Who's interested, and does Sat Jan 21st work for everybody ?

I might try to do it if I feel like playing OoT that day.

Im interested, because dot skip is probably one of the hardest things i can do well enough to race. I dont think i can stream with anything besides a webcam though which would really suck.

If I'm around that day I'm definitely in.

Depends on if both my parents are working that day (20th would be a lot better for me but not sure for the rest of the guys here.)

Time is also a bit of a issue for me but I'll see what I can do.

i might check it out if there's nothing stopping me from playing that day.

If I am around then I will defiantly participate, although I work all day on Saturday's so I probably won't. Late at night or Sunday would be better for me.

I'd join in if i was free at the time which should be any time but saturday morning/noonish.

EDIT: voted for friday because that's probably the best time for me.

Saturdays are usually bad for me but I should be able to make it on a friday or sunday.

I don't have a way to stream VC yet but i'm assuming streaming an emulator is okay? what if it has terrible lag issues? .-. sounds fun nonetheless; was sad I missed Halloween

I think I voted Friday but that's not really good anymore, Saturday pretty much any time during that day works for me. Sunday evening would as well.

Sunday at around 11PM EST or so works perfectly for me.

I'll definitely join if the race is on Saturday since I got my new Dazzle in the mail :)

I'm very interested and how's the length?

Looks like saturday wins. What time of day should this be? Not sure if I want to do this late (bad for europe) or early (possibly bad for people busy during the day)

unless im doing something with my friends ill be good for anytime during the day except maybe early in the morning

How long is this race going to be? because if it's a few hours long I probably wont be able to join due to timezones :/

8pm EST is like 2am in europe and that's just when the race is starting... Can't you make it like 6pm or something?

then is 6pm good for everybody?

That's 4pm here and i should be free. I don't have my capture card yet so i'll have to use emu which streams at like, 80kbps.. is that okay?  :-X

steaming at 80kb/s is fine. but you must stream. try to get a low resolution with a good framerate.

Does this mean there will be no Saturday Night Bingo, then?  Also, is it required that we stream in good quality, or acceptable quality?

If it's at 6pm, there should be plenty of time before SNB unless this just happens to be a really long goal.

Why it's so late?! It's 2am here like somebody said. I'll maybe join to this if I'm up then. I hope it will be good goal :)

This race was so epic it destroyed the site before it began

I don't want to be negative, but this was really misleading. I definitely wouldn't have entered if I had known what was actually required to not get a god-awful time.

No where in that post does it guarantee just knowing DoT skip would get you a good time. The point was to make it easy enough so most people can at least finish.

What did it mean then? You didn't even need to have played OOT before to complete this goal. What was the significance of the DoT skip that is was given as a guideline? I'm not the only one who (wrongly) inferred that this was a significant ceiling for getting a decent time.

This goal was brilliant. The thing with a lot of goals in oot now are there are not many new situations that pop up. There were like 10 different things I had not seen before doing this race, which is awesome. Trying to fight things was so funny at first.

Major props to Cosmo and Jiano on this, it was very entertaining. 

That was just given as an example to show no "insane" tricks were needed to be known to complete the goal. Sorry you (and who ever else) went into it knowing nothing and assumed you would get some outstanding time. Some people did the whole thing natural route and finished with times they were happy with. You didn't even bother to try and finish, so quit complaining.

I'm really not complaining, obviously how well I did was all on me it would be dumb to suggest otherwise. I put myself in an unfinishable position and was too demoralised to start over. My whole point was that it would be beneficial for new players to know around what was required to not have to do a natural run. Does this not seem like a good idea?

that goal looked really fun to play. also cool to see the participants raised drastically (can remember back in the day when only 15 people or so were at one race). id like to race with you again too, where can i keep track on the schedules?

So what was the best way to get past the frozen switch room with the Iron Boots? The megaflip timing with them is so messed up.

I'm a particular fan of standing on the floor behind the torch and shooting up through the torch to the eye switch. Then to get back out you just deathwarp in the goo.
