Title: Quality Issue

Standard Ustream quality we've come to know and love tolerate: (http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c238/Acryte/ustream2.jpg) USTREAM:- Below LQ bitrate
- Extremely choppy framerate
- At best pulling 10-20 fps
- Full screen advertisements with 47 second wait timers
- Popup advertising every few minutes
- Sound often completely desynched from video
Stream quality we should be loving: (http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c238/Acryte/VEETLE.jpg) VEETLE:- HQ/HD streams
- Solid 60 fps
- No advertisements or waiting
- Sound doesnt desynch
- ITS NOT A PROGRAM ITS BROWSER BASED JUST LIKE USTREAM
Pros / ConsUstream:Pros:- You already have an account. (doesn't matter, if you are super lazy you don't even have to make one in veetle)
- Can have 1 stream that shows a few other streams inside it (unsure if you can do that in veetle haven't tried)
- Randoms more likely to stop through, though probably not likely to stay :P speedrunning is a niche activity with a hardcore gamer fanbase.
Cons:- Hard to tell whats going on when watching anything in super choppy, non-constant 20 fps at best.
- Useless to use streams to show people things in-game because they can barely make out the details of what you are doing between the halfsecond freeze-frame stuttering video
- Shittiest quality imaginable, constant ad harrassment and waiting
Veetle:Pros: - Your fanbase is generally hardcore and loves speedruns so they will put forth the miniscule amount of effort necessary provided its needed in order to view the stream.
- The 15 seconds it takes for them to install the plugin would normally be spent watching a 47 second advertisement in ustream
- No constantly having to click to close ads or have them take up screen space.
- excellent quality makes it much more enjoyable and useful, and bitrate and resolution etc easily changeable.
- Streaming a file, CD, DVD, TV, Webcam, anything you can stream or upload to stream, very easy and high quality.
- installing the plugin does not require restarting the browser, just install and refresh the page.
- Don't need an account to stream. (Can if you want to especially for followers, its easy, you've done it a million times before, takes less than 1 minute real time)
- NOT COMPLICATED TO ADJUST STREAM SETTINGS - no pampering the livestream in fear of it getting fucked up
Cons:- you have to install a browser plugin that installs in less than 5 seconds and downloads in like 10 seconds tops. 15 seconds, and its not full of malware and viruses and shit its a legitimate install.
- you could lose casual followers! (most of the people watching the stream are from the irc not casuals and want to watch a speedrun attempt, etc. If they really wanna watch it enough to spend less than 15 seconds to install a plugin then their viewing experience will be 10x more pleasant than constantly closing advertisements and watching fullscreen interactive ads that take 37-47 seconds with terrible framerates
its this easy: (http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c238/Acryte/Veetle2.jpg) then (already filled-out) (http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c238/Acryte/VEETLE3.jpg) then (already filled-out) (http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c238/Acryte/vEETLE4.jpg) you're done.

I would think the high quality of veetle would come at a price though - people with less than top-notch connections would probably see it as a slideshow :S
