what version is best for max% child?

and why do we dupe skulltula tokens but not heart pieces ? why don't we dupe heart pieces in max% adult?

Max% challenges usually use 100% rulesets...which makes me wonder why it is considered legitimate to dupe GS. It makes sense to dupe GS for the rewards, but the ammount of normal GS you can get should still be counted seperate...(although, I think you can get >50 GS, so duping is pointless).

You can also get the Zora Tunic and Cojiro.  Probably some other stuff I can't remember.

GC of course, for dampes grave HP and suns song.

HP dupe wasn't found when I did this and I just c/p'd the list.  Of course you can dupe.

I never bothered to test how many individual GS's could be gotten but I'm sure more than 50.

i got up to 63 skulltulas in my max% as child file. there's more since i couldn't get past some shadow temple obstacles.

since i did it on VC, i screwed myself out of Hookshot and Dampe's HC.
also, i killed the skulltula necessary for getting the boss key in WT and didn't care about shadow since i lost motivation at that point once the prevous problems showed up and i wasn't going to redo the whole thing again.

im doing a max % child run and i am curious what the best way to get the mirror shield is. it seems like im going to have to hover across the outside either way so that i can get both the shield and the silver gaunts so is there any advantage to hovering over to the adult side to get the shield first rather than doing the child side normally and hovering over after getting the gauntlets?

You can't hover from one hand to the other because the statue is a slippery slope which makes you unable to move in a hover.  You'll have to get each from the normal side.

so its impossible to hover over a slippery slope? in that case where does the extra small key come from?

In my max% child file I got 70 skultulas, but I'm sure there are more to get with crazy hovers..

How are you able to get Giants Knife, Zoras Tunic, and the Gerudo card?

I believe you can get Giant's knife and zora tunic with rba. Gerudo card can be gotten as child if you do a glitch to get to Gerudo's Fortress.

Gotcha. I'll have to look more into the RBA as a child thing, so far I've only done it as an adult on a no dungeon run. If I do the cuccoo jump to get in Gerudo's Fortress, how am I able to get the card? Are the carpenters you have to save as an adult present in the fortress as a child? So far the only things I've gotten extra with glitches are the Golden Scale and the Lens Of Truth. My goal is to see how much I can complete without any on the Spiritual Stones, and then how much before the Master Sword is pulled. Not really a speed run, more of a max completion run. Any advice on tricks that don't involve complicated bomb/bombchu hovers and the like?

all of the gerudos are in the fortress so it isnt a problem to get the card. LoT is quite easy to get, just do a cucco dive into the well and go grab it. as for the golden scale it shouldnt be any trouble at all, just catch a big fish and then swim into the pond, face the owner, hold z and r and then talk to him, he should give you the golden scale

I already have the LoT and the Golden Scale. I have all of the upgrades and 12 hearts. What else is there to get? I can only think of one more heart piece that's possible as a kid, and that's the one for getting 50 skulltula tokens. How does RBA as a kid work?

RBA works the same way as adult. You can't use the adult trade items for obvious reasons but you can you use the Zora and Goron mask. You should only do RBA if you haven't already gotten the Iron Boots, Hover Boots, and Mirror Shield. (Getting the Giant's Knife would delete your mirror shield and getting the Zora Tunic would delete your Iron and Hover Boots.)

All you need to do is put bottle on B, catch bugs with Zora Mask on c-right, and do the same with the Goron Mask.

How would you put a bottle on B as young Link in the original?

You steal the rod the same way as adult.

you can get hover boots, ice arrow, water medallion, double magic, mirror shield, silver gaunts, megaton hammer, maybe the bow, etc. etc.

Anything else notable to do as a child with a bottle on B? Stealing the rod as a child was hard. There were several times the rod cast in the correct animation, link froze for a second, and then nothing happened. Very frustrating.

i guess you could RBA bean amount to have a lot of them.

Naw, I have all 10, that's sufficient for me. Back to trying to get over the gate in Gerudo Valley..

How does one get the 4th bottle as a child? The poe stand doesn't exist, and I don't think a bottle dupe should count as the 4th bottle.

RBA an empty bottle to make bottle #3 slot get a bottle or RBA a red potion to fill the bottle #4 slot with a bottle if you already have the first 3.

it is impossible to get the bottle without RBA/duping

Okay, thank you! Wish someone had told me that when I had the rod stolen though.

So far, I have 15 and 1/4 hearts, all the equipment minus the master sword and goron tunic, and all the items except longshot, bow, and hammer. The only heart I have left is the one in the desert colossus, and the Water Temple heart container. Things are coming along pretty good I'd say! :)

I've done a Max% Child. I've gotten almost everything, I just can't seem to get past the waterfall hookshot room. Timing is everything there. I use VC, I had 71 GS I believe, without all Water Temple/Fire Temple GSs.

How did you manage to equip the Odd Mushroom to one of the C Buttons?

Catch bugs in a bottle on B with green potion on c-right. Equip a real bottle of bugs onto your c buttons. Open the chest in Gerudo's Fortress and you should have the Odd Mushroom on your c buttons.

It is now possible to get the last skulltula in fire temple! Using a wrong coordinate warp from castle grounds https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8zg-spWSe8 along with a hover into the door http://www.twitch.tv/cafde/c/4267142 (you can land in the pillar from the wcw but you you would have to do the warp every time you try, which takes longer than just hovering from a fw point in the other room).
