Title: Sorry if this glitch has been brought up before Post by: bs on October 02, 2010, 10:47:05 PM I'm kinda new to this entire speed running thing, and after messing around for a while I found a way to equip stuff to b button.
Notes: It can only be done once (unless you wait for the moon to crash) It has to be done before you get the Fairy Bow. You might want to get the Zora Mask before doing this. After you are done, the item on c-right is equipped to the b button. If SoT is played, then you will go back to the first day with the sword you had before this entire process. It must be before 6 p.m. on any first day You can either save the dungeon for last, or you can skip the bow by doing a boss key skip. Now how to do this: Buy a few bombchus, head to milk road, hover over rock. (I'll have a low quality video up eventually) Talk to Romani, and you'll be put on the horse. Wait the timer out, and then she'll teach you Epona's song. Play the SoT. Go back out to Termina Field. Play Epona's song. Get on Epona. Get off. You'll no longer have a b-item. Go get the bow from the Woodfall temple. (Some tips on doing this without the b-button are listed below) After getting the bow, DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT RIDE EPONA. Go to one of the two archery places, and play a game. When you are done with the game, you will end up with the c-right button being on the b-button. Tips on Woodfall temple: Bring a few bombchus and bombs. Use a deku stick to ISG off of a bomb. Chu-hover over to the right side. Ta-da, you skipped most of the dungeon. To beat the mini-boss for the temple, use bombs, deku link (beware the fire), goron link, or zora link. Some probable uses for this: Perhaps an RBA of sorts. Anju sidequest sequnce breaker. Equipping a title deed might work on all the deku salesmen. MAYBE if you equip a non-transformation mask to b-button you can trick the people on the moon. (highly unlikely) Just trying to help, sorry if this is old news. Title: Re: Sorry if this glitch has been brought up before Post by: Razor7581 on October 03, 2010, 12:08:36 AM ^Yes this is old. If you ever want to know if a find is new please look at the question and answer thread or the trick and glitch dicovery thread. :)
Title: Re: Sorry if this glitch has been brought up before Post by: Siglemic on October 03, 2010, 12:54:52 AM razor you are seriously a dumb fucker, just go away and kill yourself
Title: Re: Sorry if this glitch has been brought up before Post by: Jiano on October 03, 2010, 12:55:09 AM Razor you're an idiot.
This only puts the OOT on your B button. It has nothing to do with c-right. Title: Re: Sorry if this glitch has been brought up before Post by: Kaztalek on October 03, 2010, 12:55:16 AM what items have you gotten on B with this
also razor i think if you play mm in the bottom of a lake it will trick the game into thinking you have zora mask Title: Re: Sorry if this glitch has been brought up before Post by: bs on October 03, 2010, 01:27:22 AM Oops, my bad! I had the ocarina on c-right so I thought that's what happened. Drat, thought I had something. *goes to explore*
Title: Re: Sorry if this glitch has been brought up before Post by: Siglemic on October 03, 2010, 04:34:23 AM great job though dude, this is definitely an interesting find =]
and you advanced the mm metagame... we always got bow for epona's song in races Title: Re: Sorry if this glitch has been brought up before Post by: MrGrunz on October 04, 2010, 03:50:35 PM so this always puts the ocarina on B instead of the c-right item? would have been too great if it worked :'(

I don't know where this rumor that bombchus on B = infinite bombchus started. It has been tested with gameshark (and in OoT), that if you have an explosive on B (outside of Honey and Darling's) and use it, it subtracts from your bomb/bombchu count. If you have no bombs/bombchus you -cannot- use an explosive on B.

Good to know people have good judgement.

sorry, pet peeve, carry on. Briefly, without the -e is preferred in law globally, and in American English, while with the -e is preferred in British English.

Probably the same reason we still use the Constitution... Title: Re: Sorry if this glitch has been brought up before Post by: Uberzelda64 on October 05, 2010, 04:20:23 PM Going back to subject, what actually causes the ocarina on b?
Title: Re: Sorry if this glitch has been brought up before Post by: bluephantom340 on October 05, 2010, 05:16:21 PM Going back to subject, what actually causes the ocarina on b? Being swordless, I guess.Title: Re: Sorry if this glitch has been brought up before Post by: darkeye14 on October 05, 2010, 08:38:21 PM That's not exactly true; if that was the case, then Ocarina on B with Koume's Archery Game wouldn't work.
It probably has something to do with the B button changing, not becoming swordless. I may be forgetting something, but it seems that every method to get Ocarina on B changes what's on the B button in some shape or form. Title: Re: Sorry if this glitch has been brought up before Post by: aleckermit on October 05, 2010, 09:42:31 PM "razor you are seriously a dumb fucker, just go away and kill yourself"
"Razor you're an idiot." Jeez guys, ease up. Being a bit harsh don't you think? Title: Re: Sorry if this glitch has been brought up before Post by: thiefbug on October 08, 2010, 11:03:28 AM what would happen if you bottle dupe over the ocarina, after playing SoT? (if possible... i'm a bit confused)
Title: Re: Sorry if this glitch has been brought up before Post by: darkeye14 on October 08, 2010, 03:02:07 PM If you dupe over the Ocarina, the game thinks it's the First Cycle; Tatl talks to you and tells you what to do, and most of the actors in Termina Field are gone. You're basically stuck until the moon crashes, though, because Skull Kid won't be holding the Ocarina if you enter the Clock Tower; he only holds the Ocarina if your Ocarina slot has a value of FF (Empty).
Title: Re: Sorry if this glitch has been brought up before Post by: Kaztalek on October 08, 2010, 07:07:29 PM btw bottle dupe over ocarina then doing ocarina on b for bottle on b doesn't work if that's what you mean.
ocarina on b works the same as deku stick on b in oot; it's just the first value Title: Re: Sorry if this glitch has been brought up before Post by: thiefbug on October 13, 2010, 07:07:17 PM so there'll be the ocarina again on the B button?
maybe it's just like the backflip in OoT, that you can change the value though a little "hint" like backflipping in OoT. So maybe, while you climb down of Epona, mashing the C and the B Button (maybe exactly the bottle you duped over the ocarina) could change the value. i don't know, but i think it is possible to change the value, when we're able to bring the B button back to the first (Ocarina) value. Title: Re: Sorry if this glitch has been brought up before Post by: RingRush on October 13, 2010, 08:49:46 PM Stick --> Bottle only works in OoT because you are doing a normal bottle dupe, that just happens to be over the B button. Normal OoT bottle dupes don't work in MM. You would have to find a way to activate the B button in honey and darling (iirc ocarina dupe, like transformation mask dupes, doesn't require a pause) to dupe a bottle over ocarina. Even then it may not work.
Regardless, bottle on B has been tested in MM and it doesn't exactly offer much. In fact, I don't think there is any use to it. Title: Re: Sorry if this glitch has been brought up before Post by: mzxrules on October 13, 2010, 09:58:40 PM Has it been tested in the Jap version though...
Title: Re: Sorry if this glitch has been brought up before Post by: darkeye14 on October 14, 2010, 12:08:46 AM Yeah, it still does nothing.
Just because Power Crouch Stab works on J MM doesn't mean that every other OoT glitch will. Title: Re: Sorry if this glitch has been brought up before Post by: thiefbug on October 14, 2010, 08:37:57 PM so it's impossible to perform RBA in MM, due to this is the only way to bring the first value onto the B button (is there any other?)
sad =( Title: Re: Sorry if this glitch has been brought up before Post by: Nightwing on October 14, 2010, 10:03:12 PM No. AFAIK, it's impossible to RBA in MM because the B button has it's own offset to use as the pointer for bottles, unlike OoT, which uses the C-right button as the pointer for B bottles. Even if you could get a bottle on B, it would only have the same use as a bottle duped over empty C.
Title: Re: Sorry if this glitch has been brought up before Post by: Kaztalek on October 14, 2010, 10:41:06 PM It would work the same as duped bottle over ocarina, actually.
