I'm going to be hosting a race in Ocarina of Time with a crazy goal. Combining new and old tricks, it will require all of your cunning prowess to figure out how to complete the goal.

For those who are fans of things like "the Uber challenge," or "low% MST" or similar challenges, this is up your alley.

The goal won't be given until the race begins.

I expect many of you to mess up bad, but please don't .quit early on this one. EVERYBODY will be struggling so don't give up! Just by finishing (even if its hours behind other people), you are an accomplished OoT player. It is allowed to start a new file if you want to, if you happen to screw up too bad on the first one.

I'm thinking this sunday @1pm EST but I will change the date if we can get more people.

I will be requiring proof for completing this race. I want a video of all 4 pause screens at the very least (best proof is streaming or recording the full run). If you play on emulator you must stream your entire run. No exceptions.

So... who's in? And if 1pm on Sunday is bad, when is a good time?

I may actually participate in this, if im not busy (which I probably won't be). Can't wait!

Hi! This sounds awesome! But I can't join on sunday that sad thing to me. Can you guys move this race some other week day? Maybe thursday or wednesday night or evening is best oppinion to me I think. Those are times when I have free day off from work. I hope you guys can move this race somehow :)

Of course next weekend is better to me than this too. I hope I can get along too. I you guys can't move this anyhow then don't bother to move it because of me.

If I moved this to Thursday or Wednesday at like 1pm EST would that be a big problem? When can most people enter this? I want to get as many people as possible in on it :)

I am willing to push this back as far as I have to, to get as many people as possible! :) The goal is reallly, really awesome and I don't want to waste it in a smaller race.

for me at least, weekdays would work best as i do nothing then, saturdays i work so i cant do it then, and sunday i will probably be able to start it at least, but i am babysitting my brother so i might have to .quit or just take a break, which would add to my time.

That time sounds much better to me. But if some peoples cannot join them I suggest move this goal to next sunday? I have day off from work then and I can join to race then. Of course time needs to be good too because I cannot play all night and I have work on monday after that :)

Wednesday or Thursday at 1pm would probably get more kids still on summer break as well.  I work a pretty typical daytime shift so that is out for me. Leaving next Friday to go on vacation for a week so if it's not this week then I'll miss it.

You're not going to get everyone so if I miss it, no big deal. I do a lot of races.

Sounds like Wed or Thurs would be better so far, but everybody should post about what works best for them

Sunday is not a good day for me. Wednesday or Thursday sounds perfect, though.

I can really do it any day, except Fridays.

what is exactly a puzzle race? or with more precision, what do you mean with puzzle? because with puzzle I understand the green poe puzzle in forest temple...

he means like the uber challenge. completing a certain goal under restrictions. such as "beat the game, start to finish using 1  total bomb/chu or  flower.

This sucks, the votes are showing 7 for sunday and 7 for thursday

Also: NOKAUBURE: What it means is that it will be difficult to come up with a way to complete the goal. It will be unintuitive.

I would say how many of the Thursday people absolutely cannot make the Sunday race and visa-virsa. Some people may have a preference but could still do the other one.

I can't join it today. This is sad thing because I really like to join in. Maybe you guys does some other puzzle goal so I can join. Have fun with this race guys!

Race is basically done, we have a straggler but it was a success.

Sadly, you guys didn't need to do beat Water Temple which was my intention — me and ZFG forgot you can longshot the box in graveyard, so instead of being a PUZZLE race (how the hell do I beat water temple without iron or hover boots, or a shield) it became more trick based (shadow early seamwalk no ISG).

That made the goal less awesome than intended, so I'll be cooking up another goal like this sometime to try to make a better puzzle.

Also for the future I am thinking about just banning emulator period. Too many incidents like the one with MrGrunz leaves a bad taste in everybody's mouth.
