Is there any way to gain early entrance into Ganon's Tower without glitching? Do you need all the medallions?

You can get the rainbow bridge in Ganon's Castle with just Shadow and Spirit Medallions, but gettting the Shadow Medallion without getting Forest, Fire and Water Medallions requires glitches.

If you're looking for the fastest route without glitches, then you should take a look at this speedrun (http://www.archive.org/details/ZeldaOoT_SS_457) from 2005.

"without glitching" is relative, and there are people doing all medallions/trials runs. Honestly removing glitches really just lowers the level of execution, makes it take longer, and makes for a less interesting run. Although a non-rba run in my opinion can be more interesting than an rba run.

Elm: that run is very glitched, look at all the rolling.

Sintendo: I highly recommend not bringing up "glitchless" discussions around here. I could go through my whole argument on why it is impossible to define a glitchless run, but I'm lazy right now.

The 4:57 is when they finally figured out that backpeddling was (significantly) faster. TSA's super-5 runs have much, much more rolling (and painfully unoptimized rolling at that).

Well first define a glitch.

I suggest you to use glitches. Is funny! I beat the game like 10 times without glitches and when I got internet I found alot of glitches. The glitches are dificult but funny, and this is a zelda speed run comunity, the good speedruners use glitches

There is truly no such thing as a 'glitchless' run, as a run requires glitches in order to be qualified as a speedrun. The only way to make a glitchless playthrough faster is to only get the essentials and backwalk.

I agree with bluephantom, especially when you yourself are still new to the forums. If you're going to fly off the handle like that at someone who's new, maybe you are the one who should be leaving.

Take a chill pill and come back to the topic when you can do it without acting half your age or like a child, whichever is more accurate.

Good day, sir!

It's all good, Glitched! I actually thought someone else had accessed your account and wrote that. It's happened before and I ended up getting chewed out by the person who did it.

My point is, that post didn't sound like you, from what I've seen in your other posts.

But, again, it's all right.

Gaining early entrance to places is a glitch.

I usually don't do speedruns like this, so that's why I'm asking. You guys need to calm down.

That's not a proper way to talk to a newbie. I suggest you calm down.
I'm just new to the forum; not the game. I wanted other people opinions, so I could do the fastest route without the use of major sequence breaks. People around here take things way out of context.

Gaining early entrance to places is a glitch.
Not necessarily.

Here (http://zeldaspeedruns.com/site/index.php?link=oot/routes/anyperc) is the fastest no glitch route. The game responds to every single action from you the best and most logical way that it can. Therefore, there are no glitches.

Not necessarily.
Then define what is and isn't. People can't help you because this route is impossible without a clear determination on every single "glitch" in the game. And whatever you do decide upon, guaranteed others will disagree and can support their opinions too.

Zach: So I see Silver Block skip is going to be used in that route.
RG: That route doesn't have enough forwardslides and Z-slides to be the fastest route!

Zach, its faster to do fire temple before forest :P

Nothing like drama.

Anyways, if your trying to find a route to use so you can become a decent speedrunner then you could ask for a route that doesn't require to much challenge and allows you go get used to the game. That I'm pretty sure someone would be totally willing to make.

On the subject of the most fun "What is a glitch". I find it humorous when someone says its easy to define something as one I mean I would have never thought you could flip up the stairs as a child in Dodongo Caverns is that a glitch. What if they didn't design it that way it would be against the designer's ability. And yet I think we can all agree that its pretty stupid to define it as a glitch. Also is it a glitch if threw shear speed (or a collection of Hearts) that you don't need to get the zora and goron tunic I mean its obviously intended as being something you are suppose to get but is not required even without glitches. Or best yet is walking backwards or sidehopping a glitch I seriously doubt they intended for it to be faster but wanted to allow for mobility in combat. At some point we cross what was originally designed for the game and its stupid to try and define the line especially when you weren't part of the original design team, I mean if you were I might listen to you.

Just my two cents.

And keep the drama going it always makes for entertaining discussion.

I'd watch a full game run no glitches if it is played at least 99% consistently.

that will be most boring thing ever. might as well just play a game i've never played in a hurry to get the closest to a no-glitch run.

maybe you could define it as "solve all puzzles" if you want to prevent the runners from skippping a lot of things but, imo, no glitches at all would be really boring. who would like to see the same cycles repeating vs gohma since you could only use the sword, unless you stock up on deku sticks (power crouch stabs would be banned)?

maybe something slightly more interesting, would be along the lines of mst, but doing a natural route with glitches to speed it up, such as

-kokiri forest/emerald
-zl
-sarias song
-goron bracelet/stone
-silver scale
-rutos letter
-zoras sapphire
-ocarina of time
-dot
-all adult stuff

so you would have to do things in there natural order (no zl before kokiri emerald, and no silver scale before zl) but you can do glitches to do it as fast as possible, such as while you would need all stones and ocarina to go adult, you could use dot skip to skip the door opening cutscene.

at the very least, it would be more interesting to watch than a "glitchless" run (as has already been said, tsa's old 4:57 ss run from years ago is probably the fastest non glitch route (or as close as you can get)

DOING SHADOW BEFORE SPIRIT IS A GLITCH I CALL IT

theres no way that shadow before spirit is a glitch. the natural route takes you that way.

the natural route is
enter shadow
realize you need LoT
enter BoW
get LoT
re enter shadow
finish shadow
get gerudo pass
use longshot/hoverboots across pit
follow flags
use LoT to get into dessert colossus
get spirit warp
spirit child
spirit adult
finish the game

Not necessarily.

Technically, early access to any area is and always will be a glitch. If you haven't done the events leading up to the area you've achieved entrance into, then you have done a glitch. Let's take the DoT for example, people get there without the Stones, that's amazing. That's a glitch, because they haven't beaten the bosses, dungeons, gotten the Stones, or even the OoT, they haven't done the events that lead up to them achieving the point of getting the Master Sword, but they still get it, which, qualifies as a glitch. Not nerd raging, just pointing that out.

But skipping the DoT entails never getting the stones; you still finish both Shadow and Spirit.

Ok I can brainstorm:

Note: I am writing this for Skipping

1) Beat Deku Tree (or manually)
- Get Slingshot
- Jump the web (try not to fall)
- Go to the deku baba(s) to the bottom left or right of the deku tree Enterance
- instead go to the enterance and lead to the web
- turn left a little and then right
-then Z target (don't target) towards baba to the other side
- Then side hop left
-and when you hear Link scream jumpslash idmeately (around there was a guess it worked for me)
-And burn the second left
-And go 2 3 1
- And beat boss :)

2)Go to hyrule castle town market

3)Go to temple of time

4) DoT skip

5) Adult Link

6) Beat the game normally but skip "Forest, Fire, and Water" Medallions because i won with spirit and shadow medallion only. Beat the game until you get to ganon's castle

7) Trial Skip Ganons castle into ganondorf's lair

8) Beat normally
and youre done!

Takes you about 3 hours to beat it! :D

RingRush edit: nominated for worst route post of the year.
