-Enter Hyrule Castle area, then leave and re-enter
-Talk to Malon for egg

-Push box as far as you can and wait until sunrise

-Cucco collecting for bottle

Changes from 1.1:

-Gets bugs for OI before entering BotW (I forgot that in the old route)
-Uses chus to hover back up to platform instead of backtracking all the way back to the mirror puzzle room

Ing claims that you can't enemy megaflip on PAL, so you have to get the Fairy Ocarina.

I then devised a route on PAL that gets one item less than his route, but requires skipping Hover Boots, making the run much harder. Now ing has a choice - play NTSC or not at all :P.

Edit: If you are curious, my route skips Deku Shield, Hover Boots, and Hylian Shield in favor of Gerudo License and Requiem of Spirit. I get Mirror Shield as child, which is possible without Deku Shield through a plethora of tricks (as the only place where shield is absolutely required before is to get to the crystal switch for chus, which he will have already obtained from the well). Reverse DoT skip is accomplished through Requiem of Spirit. This method wouldn't be useful on NTSC, since you could get the Deku Shield to skip Fairy Ocarina, which is the same ammount of items and allows you to grab Hover Boots.

That's all fine and dandy ringrush, except that the gate in gerudo's fortress doesn't open automatically when you get gerudo card, meaning that you're stuck out in the middle of the desert :P

Then get Bomb, Bomb Bag, Requiem of Spirit, Minuet of Forest, Bow, Quiver instead of Bottle, Ruto's Bottle, Golden Scale, Hover Boots, Hylian Shield, Deku Stick.

Once again, this only saves items because you have to grab the Ocarina.

PAL run still harder.

Well good luck getting to spirit chus and mirror shield without a deku stick. You need it for the key that gets you to the room with the chus.

Or you could just silver block skip as child :p.

You get Deku Shield.

In other news I just traded 6 items for 6 items...I can't count.


Edit: However, FW may work instead of Bombs/Bomb Bag to return from desert...I'd need to calculate chu totals for the run however.

Edit2: It is possible...it requires a partial bubble hover (3 or 4 backflip-shields).

Edit3: New idea, get Goron's Ruby instead of Farore's Wind, so you can hover back over the fence after chu bowling.

lol... so i guess the fw route failed because you can't get back past kz after going past him :P

Ing, you can, it just wastes enough chus to require 7-8 bubble hovers in forest temple, which is just too much.

New route should have no chu problems though.

can you do me a favor and post the new pal route so i can see what i'm dealing with if cosmo escape ends up being impossible on pal?

What is that thing you can't do on PAL?

PAL version can't megaflip off of damage sources that don't do constant damage (e.g. bombs do constant damage, while nuts from deku scrubs do not). Therefore, forest escape old school method to skip fairy ocarina if impossible on PAL.

I have an NTSC N64 version.

Here's the route I've been testing. Child section is day/night tested. Feel free to make suggestions on it, there's a lot of optional tricks to save chus but I tried to put the safest tricks in there. Getting lullaby before going to hylia is about the same time, and day/night works out but you still have to take the time to rba, get the poe, etc

Sword and shield

boss key, small key from room with invisible ceiling master, (drink poe if needed for health, can grab another after shadow is done)

bongo isg strats, shadow medallion

grab another poe if needed, head up death mountain for magic, through goron city, megaflip to bridge, enter hyrule field (21c)

either head straight to GV (magic jar isg route) or fishing pond to steal rod (iron bar isg route)

recoil slide or megaflip slide across bridge (if you stole rod, half milk rba chus now) (21c or 31c)

make way to top of the fortress for low wall skip, lws, old school gate skip or easier megajump gate skip (19c/29c)

navigate desert, enter spirit temple

silver block skip, chu switch on ceiling (18/28c)

silver rupee boulder room, small key, up to statue room

ocarina items for small key, enter lizalfos room

chu switch for 10 chu chest, deathwarp with lizalfos (27/37c)

silver block skip, back to statue room, use small key

one chu to kill beamos (26/36c), mirror shield, small key

to moving wall room, optional 1 chu to kill a beamos (25/35c)

boss key, mirror puzzle (24/34c)

shine light, lure magic jar if doing that route

if doing magic jar route, 10 hovers to boss door, if iron bars drop down, get isg, and do 27-28 hovers up (most likely will have to shield drop a chu to land in the head since you'd most likely be over a slippery surface) (14/6c)

knuckle and twinrova, spirit medallion

cross desert in reverse, get caught by guards at the gate

jump down in the river or go back across like you did the first time (13/5c)

to temple of time, LA cutscene, to ganon's castle

route 2 needs to grab spirit trial chus (do one hover off armos statue, take hover boots off and backflip), route 1 could grab them, takes 10 hits but it's kind of easy to miss the tail sometimes

make way up tower, equipping light arrows at some point, don't choke on dorf, escape

shield drop chus on ganon's tail, win
