Title: Re: OoT any% in 58:25 (TAS) Post by: SD2 on March 22, 2010, 09:57:09 PM Yeah, it's just a bad run in general.
Vast majority of the no votes came from those who frequent this site, and the others came from people who either knew the game or had common sense. I understand why it got accepted, but based on the site rules the run should have never been accepted in the first place. Title: Re: OoT any% in 58:25 (TAS) Post by: aleckermit on March 22, 2010, 10:01:38 PM Agreed. A bad TAS.
It's also really unfortunate that people are gonna think the Japanese totally showed up and kicked all our asses and found all these cool glitches and SB's themselves. Hopefully though this will urge some TASers like swordless and mrgrunz to start a OoT TAS and show these guys how it's done. Title: Re: OoT any% in 58:25 (TAS) Post by: Jiano on March 23, 2010, 04:28:11 AM I still can't believe he used that bridge skip setup in a TAS. That alone makes this hilarious.

Don't forget that it came back to get the scarecrow song after talking to King Zora and obtained the deku shield, which in the context of the route is bad. Also in the AL sections he sidehopped across HF when backwalking is known to be the fastest movement. Title: Re: OoT any% in 58:25 (TAS) Post by: Glozboy on April 07, 2010, 12:43:02 PM Judging by the speedrun, what sort of time would someone realistically be able to pull off?
Could 58 minutes be beaten? Title: Re: OoT any% in 58:25 (TAS) Post by: Maxx on April 07, 2010, 04:00:05 PM Judging by the speedrun, what sort of time would someone realistically be able to pull off? Could 58 minutes be beaten? For a TAS? I would say sub-58 is easily attainable. Title: Re: OoT any% in 58:25 (TAS) Post by: Pokey on April 07, 2010, 06:40:44 PM He didn't know how to do optimized sidehops. He most likely lost a whole second in the Dampe race due to this. Not to mention how bad it sounds.
