DAMAGE CONTROL Title: Re: USA vs. Canada Ice Hockey Post by: SD2 on March 01, 2010, 05:38:23 PM Yes, but Canada set a record for most golds at a Winter Olympic Games, which, when you add the increased pressure caused because of home soil, is pretty impressive.
But good job to the US team, they surprised everyone. Title: Re: USA vs. Canada Ice Hockey Post by: Lexkeeta on March 01, 2010, 07:56:44 PM yea i heard home soil makes a team do worse

Title: Re: USA vs. Canada Ice Hockey Post by: Mitjitsu on March 02, 2010, 09:08:20 PM Home nations always inject extra funds into their athletes, so they'll always get more golds, silvers and bronzes. After that funding gets significantly cut by the next olympics. Japan got 5 golds in 98, but in 2002 they only got 1.
