Anyways, just a random poll on how you like to pronounce "Ocarina."

It actually depends, I've said it both ways lol. But for the most part, ock-a-rina is how I say it

always ock

I have a bad habit of saying Oakarina but It's supposed to be Ockarina.

I used to say "Orc-a-rina" when I was like 10, but I know it's supposed to be "Ock-a-rina".

Ock-a-rina, because I kinda use my Norwegian accent when I talk, or something, I dunno. :P

In TP the Ooccoos are similar, try with Oc-aa-ree-na

Oak. Always pronounced it wrong that way. Ah well.

I said Ock all through my childhood because that's just what it looked like. Then some n00b told me it was Oak so I started saying Oak. I'm trying to get away from saying Oak now but it's a hard habit to break. :(

I totally see that now, whoever (can't remember) told me to say Oak...instant nub status.

I hear a lot of people pronounce it both ways, but I don't correct them on it. I used to say Oak-a-rina all the time, but now I find myself switching to Ock-a-rina because it is the right way apparently.

Do we have any music majors here that can back it up as being right? If you're a specialist in how musical instrument names are pronounced, it would be interesting to get the "official" clarification. I am a music major myself, but the only instrument I play is Piano. So, I wouldn't know for sure if it's "Oak" or "Ock."

i think Link should play the piano in the next Zelda game.

I always thought oak-arina was an American pronunciation. Guess I was wrong. So yeah, I say ock-arina.

I prefer to pronounce it "oar-uh-see-nuh"

"Eee Pee Ohna" - Epona
"Corky" - Kokiri
"Garr Uh Doh" - Gerudo
"Lake Ha Laya" - Lake Hylia
"Dooka" - Deku

That's all I can remember.

i pronounce hylia "hye-lee-uh" but i think other people pronounce it "hill-ee-uh" which i can't see considering the way "hyrule" is pronounced

i also used to pronounce gerudo "jer-oo-doh" before i know anything about japanese phonetics

Well what the hell was you friend thinking? I normally say "ock" but every once in awhile I say "oak". We should hear Kazooie's preference. :)

Jabu-Jabu - JAH-boo JAH-boo
Kokiri - Koh-KEER(rhymes with ear)-ree
Kakariko - Kay-kuh-REE-koh
Volvagia - vohl-VAY-zyuh
Ganon - GAN(rhymes with ran)-nun
Nabooru - Nay-BOO-roo
Rauru - RAW-roo
