oh shit... there's a bombchu shop?

I would have been able to finish but I had to go buy my christmas tree in the middle of it so i had to stop :(

anyway here's my summary of how the impromptu went for me:

-Started and took a long ass time to get sword and shield -.-
-Got pokey forest escape first try :D
-Had to go check to see if it was possible to RBA saria's song. Found out it wasn't, went to castle for ZL
-Got caught by guards repeatedly >:(
-Got ZL
-Went to Kakariko and got ISG off cucco first try, and botw chus went very well
-Went to DC, fucked up majorly a bunch of times, and had to restart DC (i saved upon entering the dungeon)
-Got bombs, left DC, attempted about 9 superslides to LH before finally getting it
-Went fishing, got 8 pounder first try
-Ruto's letter, watched angrily as king zora slowly moved his fat ass across the ledge
-Took ZR warp to LW, got saria's song
-Went to ToT, did DoT skip
-Had to go buy christmas tree, turned off wii, got all depressed :(

My plan was to rba the wallet, bomb bag, and song of time and then get the forest medallion and travel back through time to get the bombchus. Unfortunately not only was I unable to finish, but I also spent about 20 minutes in botw and dc when it was unnecessary (since i was making up my route as i went along).

I'm going to do a run of this impromptu goal, with a properly executed route, just to see what would have happened if I had done it right.

I got Saria's Song after Lullaby, and didn't know how to pokey escape after the lullaby. So I had to do Cosmo escape and wasted a ton of time. Also didn't know where any GS were, that didn't  help.

gud shit. I left some stuff out from mistakes, but that's my route in a nutshell...

Mine was kinda dumb, but w/e righto?

Yeah, 6th place. Not to mention first impromptu that I played all the way through :)
And now we know where to get bombchus amirite?

I started out with no route and just went with my gut then when that got me as far is the deku tree I started strategizeing.
My "route" if you can call it that.

-First I went to the Deku Tree to get 3 GSs.
-After that Forest escape get ocarina and head to zelda.
-On my way i grabbed 2 more GSs the one in the crate in the pot room in castle town, and the one in the tree outside the castle.
-Got ZL
-waited till night and went to Lon Lon ranch and got the 2 GSs I could get there.
-Died from one of the GSes...
-went to Kakariko (at night) and got 2 GSes.
-Left and waited for day
-went back in and got bottle
-go to graveyard and get bugs for 1 GS
-go get Adult's wallet
-fail at well chu's
-go get saira's song and a fairy
-get bracelet / go to DC
-get bombs (die on the way there)
-lose shield / beat DC
-go to pot room farm rupees go buy bombchus ect... till end.

All and all I think I had a good GS route except I could of skipped one in the deku tree (the one really far out of the way)
and gotten the other one in the graveyard.

all and all I got 4th which was 1 place beater then my goal so I'd say I did good.

uh... pokey escape after lullaby isnt any harder than the normal way

My play was actually pretty good by my standards, but my route was awful and I completely ruined it near the end.

-Down DMT, drop bugs in bean hole, GS (4GS)
-DC, Save
-Try to chu eyes, reset when run out of chus (4 or so times)
-Reset, Chu open room to the right, kill Baby Dodongo near bombable wall, get GS (5GS, 6C)
-Use Bomb Flower to GJ to switch
-Bomb Flower to bomb the stairs
-Throw a jar at GS, climb to get his token (6GS)
-Get shield burned in Armos room (awesome, no megaflip to chest for me)
-Jump down to 1st floor, carry Bomb Flower to Scrub to hit him, buy Deku Shield, Save (could've used Deku Nuts here but I'm dumb and deleted them)
-Attempt to chu eyes a few more times, succeed (3C)
-Get shield burned in room with switch
-Go around the "normal" way, push block to switch, enter Boss door
-Chu the ground (no shield means no shield drop, fuse is long) (2C)
-3 Cycle KD with Bomb Flowers and Sword (deleting Deku Sticks was a great idea)
-Goron's Ruby
-39 rupees, break rocks to get up to 50, enter DC, buy Shield
-Down DMT, chu open GS wall, chu GS, climb up to his token (0C)
-Wait until night, enter Kakariko
-GS from side of adult bazaar building, GS from tree, GS from side of HoS (10GS)
-Enter HoS, Wallet
-Dupe bugs over chu slot (THIS WAS MY BEST IDEA BY A LOT)
-Hyrule Field, wait until day, enter Market
-Discover that the Chu shop is only open at night (what?)
-To Castle area, wait until night
-Discover that the knee-slapping beatnik is only there during the day (I'm so smart)
-To Castle area, wait until day
-Sell bugs to knee-slapper, discover that he does not buy from duped bottles (MY PLAN PAYS OFF)
-Dump from a dupe, re-catch in dupe + real bottle, sell bugs until 200R
-To Kakariko, Graveyard, enter Composers' grave
-Fight the bats in the first room (with only a sword, lame)
-Sun's Song
-Back to Castle town, make it day, enter, make it night, enter shop, buy 2x 100R chus (2/8 done)
-Realize that OI is impossible inside shop, ask in IRC if I can leave the shop to play Saria's Song (it's OK, awesome)
-Sun's Song, sell duped bugs to 200R, Sun's Song, buy 1x 180R chus (3/8 done)
-Sun's Song, sell duped bugs to 170R, jar room for 10R, Sun's Song, buy 1x 180R chus (4/8 done)
-Sun's Song, sell duped bugs to 200R, Sun's Song, can't buy chus (I guess you can't buy them when you have 50)
-To Castle area to shoot off chus, realize I duped over the chu slot (GOOD THINKING)
-Sun's Song, exit to Hyrule Field, Kakriko Graveyard, Sun's Song, dump legit bottle, catch Poe
-Exit to Hyrule Field, attempt SS off Stalchildren w/ bushes
-Screw up all night because I'm retarded, backwalk to LH
-Steal rod (at least it only took 1 try), Sticks on B, break them, RBA 20 chus
-Backwalk to Castle Town, wait for day
-Enter Market, buy a Deku Stick, exit to Castle area, Sun's Song (deku stick OI), buy 1x 180R chus (5/8 done)
-(Can't sell bugs anymore, legit bottle is being used by Poe)
-Sun's Song in Castle area, chains up to 200R, Sun's Song (on drawbridge), buy 1x 180R chus (6/8 done)
-RBA 29 chus, Re-equip Sword
-Sun's Song, chains up to 200R, Sun's Song, buy 2x 100R chus (8/8 done)
-Start video, exit chu shop, play Saria's Song with OI, finish

Actually, pokey escape becomes impossible after lullaby because the kokiri blocking the exit changes positions in a way that forces you out of him no matter how far you clip in. This has been tested and discovered independently by me and one other person (I forget who).

Wow, that was a creative idea Cosmo! Too bad I missed it. Will be sure to watch Mp and Jiano's runs though!  ;D

my route got me 7th place and is the only, that really differs from the routes everybody else took

if you want to read some really good comedy, read my route :P

- Hylia Shield, DoT Skip (me still thinks: "that route is definately promising, maybe I'll get 3rd")

- Steal Rod, To Kakariko, RBA Adult's Wallet and Black Gauntlets and Bomb Slot, DC
- ZFG tells me, that I can RBA Goron's Ruby to be able to buy Bombchus (that evil fucker wanted to kick me out of the race, I'm sure  >:( )
- Leaves DC, Cojiro RBA, Trade Quest, RBA Odd Potion and Poacher's Saw
- To Forest Temple, Beat it, Prelude Cutscene, Get Child
- Notices, that Bombchu Shop is empty (guay ZFG  :-X)
- Get Adult again, To DC, Save (I'm such a lucky guy  :) )
- Make way to Bomb Bag, Open Chest, Notice Bomb Bag in Bombchu Slot, Reset
- Make way through DC again, Beat it, Get Child

Now it starts to get awesome

- Warp to Forest Meadow, No fucking Saria, Warp to Castle via Prelude
- To Zelda, Get Lullaby, Ganondorf Cutscene (wuhu  :D )
- Get Saria's Song, To Kakariko, Enter Well, Get Bombchus via clipping (have no Bombs as Child)
- Wents to Shop, Celebrates, Collect 1000 Rupees via Guard House
- EPIC WIN

As you can see, RBAing stuff gave me a huge advantage! I had to do everything, everybody else did like Well Chus early via Wall Clipping, getting Lullaby normally and Beat DC normally, but I had a lot of other stuff to do:
- Getting Bottle, Scarecrow Song
- DoT Skip, Light Medaillon Cutscene
- Hookshot, Trade Quest, Stealing Rod
- Forest Temple + Damn Long Cutscene
- Prelude Cutscene + Open DoT
- Ganondorf Cutscene

grunz: my route was similar to that (I planned to RBA stuff as adult and then go back to child for chus) but yours was definitely the most "different" from everyone else's.
