Hey everyone.  We haven't had a puzzle race in a while.  So let's do one.  I, the great and powerful petrie911, have come up with a deviously clever goal, and I want you guys to try to solve it.

All puzzles assume NTSC-U version (either VC or N64).  That doesn't mean it's necessarily required to complete the goal, but goals may be significantly more difficult or even impossible without that version.

Well, we could try it this Saturday if that works for people.  Otherwise, sometime next week?  When would you guys be free to do it?

I might be in, depends on mood...also i play on the shit GC version.

So, the last post reminded me of something.  You're going to want to use the NTSC-U N64 or VC version for this.  You could use other versions, I suppose.  But you'll be at a quite heavy disadvantage.  I'd strongly recommend against it.

I live in EU and the VC version here is 50HZ. I really dont want to hack my wii though.
I dont mind the disadvantage, its not like im aiming for first place.
BTW, what tricks are needed?

Well, perhaps I should have been more clear.  I suspect the puzzle goal is impossible on the versions I said you shouldn't use.  I'm not certain, but I believe it to be the case.  Still, if you want to try anyways, by all means do so.  There may be something I didn't think of.

Anyways, what do people think of Saturday at, say, 1pm EST.

That would suck for European players. I'm not racing it but I'm aware that this would be really inconvenient for people. How about a different time?

To be fair, you're also the only person who has actually replied to it.  Admittedly it's kind of hard to accommodate PST and CET together.  So maybe 4pm is better if we have some Europeans who want in on this?

Ok, bad news guys.  Something's come up and I won't be available tonight.  Or tomorrow night for that matter.

What do people think of next Saturday?  That gives us plenty of time to come up with a reasonable start time.  I still think 4pm is the best choice, as it should be reasonable across all time zones.

Urm...multi this is already over, about a week ago.

Was about to say. I decided not to run it and watched Indextic do it. After spending time doing that, and then watching how Cafde did it, I just said fuck it. That's terrible. Petrie did good on this.

i just hovered into the powder keg cave from oob (~40 explosives), and it crashed my game when i walked up to the ice (the cave / biggoron werent loaded yet)

Well hovering would've invalidated your run because hovering requires ISG and you have to do it without ISG and Hovering.

Hey everyone.  It's been long enough that I think we should give this another go. I have a new goal, and I think you'll like it.

So, who's in? If people are ready, we could do it 4pm Saturday. If not, next Saturday should be available.

Also, I've decided to just assume NTSC-U version (either VC or N64).  This is the only version I have, which is important if I want to test it, and by assuming that version I don't have to give away anything about the goal.

I'll try it if I can enter using PJ64 1.6, otherwise it'll be no go for me since I have no capture card to stream currently.

I'm interested but this Saturday isn't good for me.

No, it's not too late. Our attempt to do this failed, so we'll try again on June 1st, the next time I will be available (I'm currently on vacation).  Try to spread the word about this among the MM players.
