Title: Lighter streaming program? and some other Qs... Post by: Groove Heaven on August 03, 2012, 12:27:43 AM Hey, everyone. I recently started streaming on twitch.tv/grooveheaven and it's fun and all, but my P64 laaaaaaaaaaaags out when I run Xsplit. Parts of the game that aren't laggy don't lag too much, but laggy parts like Ganon's castle are ridiculous. I'm going for any% and no-WW MST personal goals right now as well as making a new video series I call "Awesome Tricks Done Slow," where I explain how to pause buffer difficult tricks in OoT and MM, and I want them to be streamed. My laptop is almost 4 years old and has a pretty meh graphics card even for the time. I've heard you can't replace the graphics card in laptops, and I think it might be time for a new one anyways, but I'd really rather not drop $700+ right now.
So my questions are: 1) Are there any programs lighter than XSplit that I could try to stream on twitch? 2) Any other ideas on how I could improve the emulator while XSplit is up? 3) I bought a May Flash N64 USB adapter and I have some input lag. Is there a way to calibrate or something or did I just buy a crappy adapter? If so, what's the recommended one to buy? Title: Re: Lighter streaming program? and some other Qs... Post by: bluephantom340 on August 04, 2012, 06:51:26 PM Try using FLME and SCFH DSF. If it lags still, then you need a better computer.

Post by: Warchamp7 on September 30, 2012, 04:52:42 AM Pardon the slight necro but a nifty program called OBS came out a little while ago and I had a major increase in performance from it when streaming. I've been preaching about it everywhere since :P
You can find it here http://openbroadcastersoftware.com. It's pretty lightweight and runs really nice for me Title: Re: Lighter streaming program? and some other Qs...
