Title: Ocarina of Time in 1:07:23
Post by: aleckermit on December 08, 2009, 03:42:22 PM
I just finished a segmented speedrun of OoT in 1 hour 7 minutes 23 seconds. I used Runnerguy2489's route as my guide. It's not near perfect (and I plan to go back and re-do some more segments) but I thought you guys would like to see it. This proves that Runnerguy2489 will definitely shatter the 1 hour mark(maybe even 55 minutes or less). I'm not submitting this run anywhere because it was done on an emulator(I had no TV recording device at the time) and because I knew Runnerguy2489 will beat it by a lot when his run is finished. I mainly did this run for fun and to challenge myself. It took 1 month and 4 days to complete.

Here is the link to the run:

the good thing about many people using the route is that it makes it more known knowledge and people know what to expect.

also, it must be cool to say "hey, i can beat OoT in an hour and a few minutes"

You're talking about the mega flip bridge skip right? Isn't that TAS only?

It hasn't been tested yet but 90% sure its faster to skip hookshot.

Can someone test it then? To the abilities of a top console runner?

I just want to say that I've watched the run and I think it looks amazing!

Everything looks well-executed and IMO flawless. Even if I'm wrong, due to my little knowledge of running, I still think it looked great.

Great work! Look forward to seeing more...

I lol'd when you clipped the Kokiri through the wall. I take a short break from ZSR and way too many more glitches have been found. Great run, wonder what it'll be like perfected.

Well it's certainly faster for TAS. For a normal run it is a lot more questionable, since you have to gather a buttload of rupees (might not even be possible reliably) and the old forest escape and ZR boulder skip aren't as fast non-tas. Furthermore you probably can't superslide off the peahat, can you?

In the end both routes are far to different to be compared by anything other than testing both out and see what time you get. You will have to swallow that pill runnerguy. ;)

Yeah I did already because I knew no one else really wanted to. I posted it in my thread though in order to not sidetrack this one too much.

Uh nice. Man your thread got bumped down. That's why I didn't see it...
