Title: Potential for Wrong Warping?
Post by: Jeville on March 06, 2012, 04:11:52 AM
As seen here (http://www.jaytheham.com/zcw/Majora%27s_Mask_Any_Item_Epona_-_Glitch_Temple). Did anyone tinker with this to try to get different results? Or know why it takes you to the Pirates' Fortress?

Based on this table from spinout's wiki, I'd say it's a possibility.

just tried this on emulator, and going back out the temple took me to the swamp entrance with it acting like woodfall was cleared even though it wasn't with the strange fade-out. I've seen this warp a lot from the beta quest stuff, a lot of the exits just end up there. The ZeldaChaos page says that it crashes on exit, might be an emulator only thing. Also, using cheats, I warped into stone tower temple on epona, fog everywhere, textures were fucked up, and exiting takes you to the mayor's place. none of the others seem to do anything

after coming back to this, I realise that I've not tried great bay temple. Also, after coming back to this, I've noticed that killing yourself in the pirate's fortress takes you back to snowhead temple, similar to OoT FWWW

I'm not so curious as to where each warp takes us, but rather knowing if it's possible to manipulate the warp values of those odd warps. That death warp bit is interesting.

GBT doesn't do anything because even if you beat the temple, SoSing back on epona puts you there on epona. Entering the temple afterwards makes it behave as normal, including the boss warp.

I messed around with this a little bit. It appears to me that simply riding Epona into Snowhead/Stone Tower Temple is the only thing that causes these scenes to break, as opposed to some weird set-up.

Warping with Snowhead's white warp places you at entrance 394D. In MM, entrance is split into two values, your scene (39), and the room number (4D). 3900h takes you to Milk Road, but the game uses a different value to place you at Milk Road normally (I think it's 3CXX). I'm not entirely sure how the game determines where you're placed if the Scene/Room combination doesn't match. Sometimes you end up at Southern Swamp, other times you end up over at the next scene.

As for the Stone Tower Temple wrong warp, it's pretty simple. It takes you to 0000, which is the mayor's hosue.

GlitchesAndStuff mentioned getting to the Southern Swamp from exiting, but you managed to get there from the boss warp?

No I haven't gotten there by wrong warping, I was just talking in general. For one reason or the other a lot of "bad" Scene/Room combos cause you to load clear water southern swamp

Tried this again with SoT storage for Snowhead. Boss portal still warps you to Pirates' Fortress... If storing SoT in Woodfall is possible, we can fight Odolwa on Epona or whatever different result it would be.

Edit: Someone have done it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vWZl-CDr1k&feature=relmfu

Would these glitches with Epona only be possible on NTSC?

At the moment, yes. PAL has the Epona warping glitch fixed, and the Japanese version can't do it because it doesn't have owl saves.
