What's the least amount of c-item usage to beat the game?
This counts as a c-item use:
-using items like gfs and lot
-every time you use a number item, like bombs or arrows
-putting on/taking off masks
-handing c-items for events, like in curiosity shop
-pressing x, y, and z on gcn does not circumvent this
This doesn't:
-assigning items to c in the pause menu
-normal c-presses like notes in ocarina songs and lookin with c-up

No shield imo.

Too many arbitrary goals, keep them to a minimum.. IMO, Uber challenge should be:

1. Two cycles
2. 1 bomb shop trip
3. Low% items (Hookshot, not blast mask, chus are allowed)

Possibly a 4 - No BK Skips if that is doable under the above three conditions.

Actually, simply low% no bk skips is probably good enough. If we released one to GameFAQs, thats what it should be.

No shield is really bad, since you are crippled w/o shield in MM. 95% of sbs become impossible.

This isn't for gamefaqs. The goal is to be the hardest possible way to complete the game.

You cannot get FD mask in one cycle. Also, bk skipping is more difficult than doing the dungeons without. Just try GBT BK skip without chus, you'll wanna die.

For one, you can't get blast mask and couple's mask in the same cycle.  There's probably a couple other things.

Are you allowed to save/quit? I'd say doing low% in one cycle might not be doable if you can't. Hell, it might not be doable even if you can. No SoS and no SoT complicates things greatly.

No SoS is part of what makes low% difficult and different from any%, imo. So I'd say no SoS.

This is so arbitrary it is terrible. Challenges are supposed to elegant to describe, hard to perform.

"low% with X" is just uninspired and boring

Edit: come up for a route of least transformation mask uses possible, if it's hard enough, that can work. Because that means things like getting into PF as Link, Gyorg without Zora Mask, and STT small key without zora mask... just off the top of my head

That actually sounds like a great idea, I'll meditate on it tonight. It would also do things like beans cycle 1 so you can get Sonata of Awakening and rise woodfall before learning Song of Healing (and thus skip ever having to transform into Deku again).

Edit: Actually, I'd have to go through the route in my head, but I think it is possible with only -1- transformation (not counting becoming child link again or the deku stuff at the start). For Great Bay, you can become Zora, get 3 eggs from pinnacle rock in duped bottles, play sot, sos back, get an egg in another duped bottle, play sot, sos back, drop off the four eggs, get 3 more from pinnacle rock, return them and learn NWBN, head to turtle and play it. All that should be doable without becoming human again...we'd need 4 items to dupe over though. I'd guess Deku Mask, Deku Nuts, Deku Sticks, and Bremen's Mask (maybe empty C thrown in there, or maybe even Bow depending on when we do GBT). You would still want to visit fortress as normal link in order to get hookshot for Stone Tower / Snowhead Temple.

best 4 to dupe are definately deku, sticks, nuts, and zora.

Remember you can dupe over masks while wearing them.

Also, after you play NWBN, you could do the first part of PF as Zora without switching, which is a bummer because that makes things way easier

Eh, getting into PF isn't that hard anyways. Since you can't goron pound the switch, you still have to become human after entering PF.

Also, duping over zora mask would be bad since you can't transform back into a human afterwards. If you dupe over a transformation mask while wearing it, you are stuck as that transformation until you equip another tansformation mask (which you obviously can't do in this challenge).

Also, instead of getting Adult's Wallet, just get 120R. Actually, skip buying bombs in cycle 5 and just get them from behind the observatory (still need to buy chus though). This means we only need to deposit 50r (c3) + 40r (c4) = 90r. Meaning we only need to do the rupee chest in the first cycle, no additional collecting (or only get rupees while waiting in cycle 2, as that skips the chest opening dialogue).
