I've never tried it on cube but it gets really easy once you work out the timing on N64. Really it just depends on the quality of your control stick.

i've only done it with GC controllers on GC and VC.

like most tricks, it will be easier on the version you play more and pull off more tricks. the advantage of GC is that the sticks last much longer.

I've never tried it on N64 because I stopped playing on N64 immidietly when I found out that the GC version runs faster than PAL N64.

N64 all day. GC stick is way too sensitive for my tastes.

N64 is definitely easier for me, but GC is still fine.

never used a N64 controller for this.
i always done the DoT skip with NGCC...

If you're using an Emulator you could just hold bottom left and then let go (IMPORTANT) a frame later roll and then hold bottom left or left and press a to side hop and slash when you are out of bounds and not dead :)
