Title: New visions for Zelda franchise
Post by: Pokey on November 22, 2011, 04:39:16 PM
After playing Skyward Sword for for 28 hours I have pictured what future games in the series could be like. I imagine much more upgrades for weapons that are good for different things. For example you go find something in the forest and put it on your shield, the more you put on it the more special ability it has. You can put stuff like vines, rocks, etc on it. This also applies to all other weapons. I thought of being able to make changes to your sword to make it have strengths and weaknesses (Much like PH but less stupid). I also thought of killing Bokoboblins and using their weapons until it breaks. Before getting a bow you could kill a Bokoboblin with a bow and keep it in your pouch and pick up a couple arrows and use it (the bow would be a lot worse and the arrows would be duller than the real bow later on ofc). I also hope for a ton of weapons that you can store in the item check that you can switch around including a hammer and maybe an axe.

Also most importantly there will be a Fun Fun Island on EVERY CORNER OF THE WORLD~~~!

All future zelda games are going to be required you strap on a mechanical suit that emulates your body movement to control Link. They'll be sloppy and unresponsive, though. That won't change.

What you described sounds too much like an RPG. I hope it doesn't get any more extreme than SS.

I want more stuff to search. 1000 parts of a crystal for example. They are everywhere, but can only be obtained once each.

What Zelda games need to be like in future

* More towns
* More mini games
* Upgrades to items (not just allowing for more of a replenisable item)
* Easter eggs
* Motion control for sword
* Emphasis on using shield
* Slower sword swings to deter spamming of sword
* Less of a pre-determined path through the game. LttP is a good example of this, by making the first 1/3 of the game linear and allowing more choice for paths during the last 2/3 of the game.
* Futuristic Hyrule
* Not to use motion controls for flying and swimming sections.

I want some things:

Motion controlled actions (opening chests and doors)
fully interactive cuccos (stroke the controller for high score)
Dating sim minigames inbetween dungeons
Wifi and photo sharing so i can chill with my buds
Custom character design (still silent though)
Achievements
some callbacks to old school zelda games such as link to the past and wind waker
Deeper plot (can be handled like heavy rain or catherine)
non sword weapons for variety
PC port for user made modifications

these would be good imo

EDIT: I FORGOT A SKATEBOARDING SEQUENCE!

Not only will you have Fi, but you will also have Midna and Navi. They will each have a text box that appear one after another, saying basically the same thing. And there will be one zora, who you fall in love with.

The Hylian shield will be available for 21,000 rupees only after completing a boss rush consisting of every Zelda boss in history.

Reentering dungeons after you beat them, to find new rooms that are required to beat the game. After you find some new items.

Nah it needs 11 temples.

3 in the beginning, then one in the middle, and 6 others, then final temple.

And you can only beat the first temple by entering then leaving then entering again to unlock the first door. Your animal will be a giant frog

Like phantom hourglass and spirit track's main dungeon?

In all seriousness, I think there should be a reason to have to backtrack to a dungeon, possibly for a treasure hunt unrelated to the main game, or perhaps for heart pieces

heart containers are split in 8 and you have to assemble them after killing the boss.

Backtracking to a dungeon to get needed collectibles, also the dungeon map doesn't show the parts you have to enter later, when you get certain items.
