Impromptu Leaderboards

Since we are racking up the impromptu results, it seems like a leaderboard might not be a bad idea.

Here was how I was thinking of scoring it:

-forfeits get you 0 points.
-finishers get increasing points based on the number of entrants

Example:

There are 5 people in an impromptu race. 3 people have finished, two people quit.
1st place: 5 points
2nd place: 4 points
3rd place: 3 points
4th place: 0 points (this person quit)
5th place: 0 points (this person quit)

Totals from all the impromptus would be added and then an overall leaderboard would be done.

This does not have to be the point system, feel free to discuss other systems. I just liked it because it awards points based on how many people you beat, and encourages people to actually finish to get points.

The only problem I see with this system is that it's based on the number of entrants, which is essentially random. If sixteen people show up to do an easy goal, then the first place winner earns 16 points; if only seven show up for a hard goal, then the winner only earns 7 points. Of course, "hard" and "easy" are relative standards, so it would be impossible to formulate a scoring system based on them.
