The only problem I see with this system is that it's based on the number of entrants, which is essentially random. If sixteen people show up to do an easy goal, then the first place winner earns 16 points; if only seven show up for a hard goal, then the winner only earns 7 points. Of course, "hard" and "easy" are relative standards, so it would be impossible to formulate a scoring system based on them.
