I've been looking into making a console setup for the timerless deku to shadow wrong warp but when I do the void warp instead of ending up in shadow I end up somewhere different https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hyuk0YUMbYU
Does anyone know the cause of this? I've got the 1.0 rom, I've beaten forest temple and I've tried using minuet and bolero cutscenes but in both cases this happens ): I've also checked ganondoor works normally.

I believe this is what happens when you void one frame too late

Hey guys. I'm having trouble with a certain strat/setup for ganondoor. I'm currently using the 5 frame doorway setup, but I've seen many runners use a different slightly faster one, and I can't find any good explanations/tutorials on that one. You basically target the same wall as in the 5 framer, but then turn right, sidehop right two times and then backflip OI. From there I know the gist of it, and I have gotten it a couple of times, but I'm obviously not consistent with it.

Can anyone explain that strat? E.g. how many steps to take before throwing the deku nut, how big the frame window is, what kind of adjustements is needed for different frames etc? I could probably figure it out with trial and error, but I figured it would be more efficient to ask here.

Thanks in advance.

Could you link an example video showing that strategy being done so we know exactly what you're referring to?

I've researched the method ZFG uses and it looks like there are three frames you can get, 92 and 93 twice. 93 allows you to go to the door immediately, but 92 requires you to count up one more frame to 93 before you can open it. I've made a video that shows me doing the method, explaining as I go: https://youtu.be/p8ZS8lNyoGI

I've also made an picture showing the possible frames from above and the 180s you can do at each spot to count up which frames: http://i.imgur.com/pnuTbfu.png Along each yellow line is a "Face-T" and "Back-T". "Face-T" means you're facing the wall and the 180 turns you away from it, while "Back-T" means you backwalk into the wall while facing away from it and then 180, causing you to face directly at the wall. I call memorizing the frame counts of each "Mathematical Ganondoor", and you can see more of what I mean here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMEmyfIb2TE

Nice, thanks! That helps alot!

And thank you for the mathematical explanation too. That knowledge will definitely be useful for troubleshooting when I screw up. Cheers.

Sup, newcomers. New to Ocarina of Time? Just discovered a trick on your own and want to know if it's old? Need some help on how to do a trick or two? You got questions, we got answers.

[I already made a thread about this, but I was hoping I could post in here as well seeing as it is a question and I am seeking answers!]

"I was playing Master Quest and I'm on the Spirit Temple. This is my first time entering the temple as young Link. I got the first key at the very beginning, and then another key to the left where the mummies are through the hole which Link firsts crawls through [past the Nobarru woman]. Normally, you're supposed to continue going that direction passing doors and eventually ending up in the big statue area. However, that did not happen for me. When I got the two keys I actually went to the right side of the beginning area past the water barrier and used a key on one of the doors there. I went through the water barrier by jumping in the corner and then jump slashing as I'm floating up to glitch out of the map in order to walk past the water barrier. This was done completely by accident as I was curious if it would work. When I used a key to open the door past the water barrier, I noticed that I could not do anything as that area requires adult Link with his iron boots. So, I saved and reset the game because I could not go back through the water barrier as clipping backwards does not seem to be possible [the ceiling does not line up with the barrier, therefore I could not glitch back]. Once the game was reset, I went left through the little hole and continued onward there. I eventually got stuck when you have to blow up part of the wall to let sunshine hit the sun which triggers a chest. However, this chest is far too high for young Link, therefore I could not get it. This area has a locked door. I already used one key past the water barrier, and another key just to get to this area, therefore I was thinking I missed a key somewhere. Looked around, could not find it. Went on YouTube to see a walkthrough, and I got all the keys they got. That's when it hit me, I used the second key past the water barrier instead of this room. I'm stuck. I can't progress any further unless, perhaps, glitching is involved.

Possible glitching
1) Superslide through the water barrier to get a silver rupee in order to collect them all and unlock a chest in the beginning area which has a key [There are silver rupees in the beginning area, two in the very beginning and 2 past the water barrier. There's also one in the water barrier which can be obtained using the iron boots][Will superslide pass through the water barrier?]
2) Use the water barrier to clip out of the map again and to try and get ahead [This does not seem to help seeing as areas are not loaded unless I go through doors, and all the doors in the beginning area do not lead you to get a key without adult Link help]
3) Use gameshark to moonwalk through the water barrier to get the silver rupee in the water barrier [Same concern as superslide, I'm not sure if this will work. I'm also not sure if I still have a gameshark]

Any help you guys can give would be wonderful, especially if I can continue forward in this game.

Thank you,

Dabbers"

You can hover up to the key in the room with the "too high" chest: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-z5ICoDNEk

Get ISG on the sun on the floor using its "Show me the light!" textbox.

Anyone know the best category for beginners?
Any% is definitely the best; just use the easiest strategies within it. I made a quick tutorial for you:

- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22HNZl4yvB4 (Part 1)
- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKka3YYn5w0 (Part 2) and the visual Ganondoor guide I mention in it: http://i.imgur.com/7OV4aze.jpg
- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNp2gqJSkfk (Part 3)

If you have any questions, let me know. Excuse the unprofessional feel of the videos, it was quick/unscripted.

If you have trouble understanding how Ganondoor works, I made another video explaining it with memory watching software up about a month ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLyROWAHuCg and a detailed look at my "Mathematical Ganondoor" strategy about 8 months ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMEmyfIb2TE

Here's one I just made: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUf-NFSL5jk . It assumes you already know how to Megaflip with a chu.

Hello all, I'm routing new Max% adult because of Bottle GIM using torch clip to get out of bounds. The only unfortunate thing is that the only way I can find to get explosives is to use Poes to get to shadow temple, getting hover boots, getting 200 rupees then going to haunted wasteland for bomb chus. But, nobody wants to do a run that is 100% ring in the first couple minutes (Poes) so I pose this question to everyone: Is there a way to get explosives as an adult without anything from child? Keep in mind the only things we have and can get is MS, Shield, Hookshot, Ocarina and some gold skulltulas. Everything else Requires explosives to get. Thank you so much for any help you can provide, because I really want to see this category come back to life. -Cappan

Are there any extra tips that can be given for the Pokey Escape? I've tried using the camera for those reliable methods, but they don't seem to be so reliable for me. I've tried lining up the map with the edge as one guy suggested, and I've tried lining up the B icon as another suggested. One video had a method where he turned right, slashed, and then did a crouch stab while flicking up but it's only provided me about the same consistency as the camera method (probably 1 success per 30ish tries).

The video with the second method said that if ISG activates, and I only almost clip into the guy, that my angle is off. However I don't really know what that means here. I don't see how I can recognize the best angle when the differences between each attempt are so small for the camera method, and the timing (from what I can tell,) is so precise on the second method. It's hard to not see the setup going wrong, so I can only assume there's a problem with my process of crouch stabbing, and then talking/ISG for the clip.

I'm having a lot of trouble in the dodongo's cavern megaflip to skip some of 2f. I can't seem to find a video that goes through the inputs as I can't seem to perform it.
