I just found we can use ESS during a SS teleport. That makes Link still going back while he tries to pick bush/bombflower.

I haven't done more test, but I'm thinking about aerial possibilities.

And for oot megahover, could we let roll a bombchu on the wall Link alongs when it's about to explode, then roll (or side roll) in the explosion?

I think megahover was proven barely possible if you have a wall nearby. But you can't stop yourself with another hover if you're traveling at megaflip speeds.

MrGrunz was able to stop his megahover at Fire Temple Boss key skip V 1.0, but only cause he hovered against a wall.
But this method is outdated.
I haven't seen any other places, wher we could use a Megahover in OoT.

Yep, I know. But we can megaflip for the first jump (megaflip on a bomb or foe to the explosion of a bomchu crawling the wall) and for the last one.

there has to be a way to megahover in Spirit for block skip. In voids does the explosion go faster like MM speed? How excactly are you able to hover in voids?

In MQ, it is possible to beat the entire Spirit Temple as an adult.  You can roll into the waterfall in the beginning of the dungeon and go then use the longshot to go through the top of the gate in the room where there are stalfos and then finish the rest of the temple as usual.  I seem to have better luck getting through the waterfall part with the hover boots.  I have managed to pull it off with the kokiri boots only once.  I have pretty much been caught in the voids and died every other time.  What is the trick to getting through it with just the kokiri boots?

I'm also working on a 100% Deku Tree run, but I don't know if you can get the bombs. I've been trying to get the bombs for some time.

The only way I see is becoming an adult, getting the bow, then doing Dodongo's Cavern, as an adult, to get the bombs, or maybe I'm missing something.

You can do early spirit temple and get chu's, or flame skip in dodongos to get bombs.

You'd have to escape the forest first obviously

I'm having trouble performing the baba mega sidehop on a real N64. I have two PAL v1.2 cartridges
but I can never do it. In project 64 I find it quite easy to do with a success rate of around 50%. I've even tried with a v1.2 rom and I still had no problem on the emulator while on the real N64 I have never gotten it.

Please help me, this is driving me crazy.

Be aware PAL runs at a different speed than NTSC. Try doing the sidehop slower (later) than you would on the emulator

Early Bombchus as Child

Jumpslash to get to the carpet salesman in the Haunted Wasteland and buy them from him. This would require tricks to get there as a child and only 10 skulltulas to get the adult wallet.  It might seem useful for a 100%, segmented run.  I wouldn't be surprised if this has already been discovered though.

I was just wondering if anybody could explain to me how to use pause buffering.
I can get OOB in the bottom of the well but I have only ever once been able to do the jumpslash to the bombchus and I heard that pause buffering would help to make sure that it was only 3 frames after jumping out of the water that link jumpslashed.

If someone could point me to anything explaining pause buffering that would be great.

Just hold the button/s as you're un-pausing and it will do it on that frame. Advance one frame at a time and you're basically using frame advance on console.

For the jumpslash to the well chus, it's weird since sometimes you need to do it on the 2nd frame, and sometimes on the 3rd. I've found that if I swim backwards to the edge, then turn around and swim out, it'll always be the 2nd frame.

Here's a question: Would RBA runs be allowed on SDA?

Now, I know that I could probably ask this on the SDA OoT topic but, figuring that these are the best Zelda speedrunning forums, I thought I could ask here, too.

By the way, I'm new, so hello!

I know this is two posts in a row, but I figured people would notice it more if I just posted again...

New question, cause I don't understand something: In the any% RBA run, you get the 40 rupees on the chains before doing DoT skip. If some of those rupees go to fishing as an adult, what else do they go to? Or do all 40 go to fishing? I can't remember if there's a difference in rupee total between child fishing and adult fishing.

Thanks ahead of time!

Just take a look to the DoT skip page on the site. The angle shown is perfect.

Anyway, be sure to press C-up just after Z when you turn back to have the good alignement.

And hold left from your side jump til you get through the door.
And you can pause buffer it. Press B for the jumslash just one frame after you get through the wall.

If you use the angle shown on the DoT skip page,  a good sideroll and backward sidehop should get through most of the time.  You might be sidehopping too late or not rolling far enough left.  When you think you're going through you might want to pause to find the right frame to jumpslash.  When you see a frame where link is no longer on screen but the camera is still in bounds, unpause, hold left and mash B and you should get in.

I prefer to stay in the ledge or corner, and backflip once and then immediately do the sideways roll and sidehop. Most other people prefer to have some space there though to not roll forward along the side.

It took me 4 hours when it first was discovered to do it, and I already had done a lot of hard tircks. Don't get discouraged!

It does not have to be pixel perfect. There are a few angles that will successfully clip you through. You would then have to time the jumpslash slightly different.

For now though, don't worry about the jumpslash at all. Don't even think about it. Just focus on clipping through until you can do that like 8/10 times. Then start to focus on the jumpslash part.

Try playing around with the angle slightly.  I had a really low success rate with the angle on the DoT skip page, but if I line it up a LITTLE bit to the right of that, I get it a lot more often.

ok i tried it.
still hard but the succes rate is higher now xD

there is no extreme difference between NTSC and PAL, is there? (except the speed)

edit: got it =DD

just need to check many times (more than two times)
it has always been a problem with the angle =))

there are some minor differences between pal and the ntsc versions. you can look it up here:

http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/wii/file/937742/46380

btw if your playing on pal id suggest you to switch on 60 hz. its kinda weird but the change of the gameplay-speed also affects the difficulty of glitches. it makes them way harder.

the guide is a bit outdated but still useful for older stuff. i didn't know there were gold v1.2 carts. it's fun because it is the complete opposite of the grey v1.0 that i have and is apparently very rare (maybe it will be worth big bucks someday...)

what needs to be updated is the new steal the rod glitch that makes all versions almost equal and the mechanic that puts the MS on link when you are swordless and save except on v1.0.
