Ocarina of Time World Records
« on: March 12, 2014, 03:46:59 PM »
As some of you may know, I created a Google Doc a while back which attempts to list all current world records in every relatively significant category in Ocarina of Time and Master Quest, both "ZSR-approved" and otherwise. It started out just as a reference project for myself but other people have found it useful so I decided to post it here. This isn't a leaderboard, and if run is on here it does not mean it is "verified" or anything; it's just a convenient place to check out what the fastest times for various categories are.

If you see something incorrect, out-of-date, or think I should add something new, etc. you can reply to this topic or contact me somehow (IRC, Twitch, YouTube, whatever). If you get a world record yourself, why not post it in this topic too?  ;)

I also plan on adding the rules for each category and a glitches FAQ, but those aren't my main priorities at the moment :D

Anyway, here it is:

OoT World Records

Hi Jbop,

There is a new Glitchless WR: 3:48:49 by LTT on 2014/02/19.
http://com.nicovideo.jp/community/co1902867

Thanks very much for this nice spreadsheet. It would have been nice to know about it during the long ZSR downtime. ; )

Thanks, and if anyone sees any other WRs can you put them in this topic so I don't have to search all over the place for them when I get back and want to update the doc?  :)

Many thanks for maintaining this so well, Jbop! I've just launched a website which plots a fair chunk of this data within a couple of graphs: https://speedruntimeline.com/#game/ocarina-of-time. As a quick example, the data for 100% currently looks like this:

At some point I'll get around to adding a 'credits' section at the bottom where I'll link back to this thread.

I did a 4:40 Single Segment run of OoT back in April 2006, I'm surprised that's not been documented.
Things that aren't hovering go in the other topic.

In addition to the run that is listed? If not, the run listed for you is probably that one (with possibly the wrong date), since all runs were changed to ZSR timing.

I think back then it was still timed from first input? If so, then an added 3 min makes sense.

EDIT: Yeah 99% sure they are one and the same, since the video for the run already on the doc was the one I was trying to find here: http://forums.zeldaspeedruns.com/index.php?topic=1172.msg28878#msg28878
