MIM provided some great optimizing tips:

- 1st Blue Rupee from the other side of the house
- Immediately press X/Y to equip things on the item screen
- Superslide off the Tektite to GC
- Don't relight stick (a hard thing to do)
- Backwalk up the final straight path to Saria, save a few Deku Nuts
- Jump to the Bomb Bag
- Superslide up to the Great Fairy
- Use saved Deku Nuts on the Keese in the last 2 rooms before KD (REALLY good tip!)

Any others that people can think of? I'm going to try and find more myself for a while

Just posted this in R&D.

You can backflip off the DMT cliff after throwing the bomb flower before the cutscene starts. Shaves off maybe one second.

Great time, Tom! Maybe I'll try an any% after I time 100% Child 1.

It is really easy to not relight the deku stick since in OOT3D the stick stamina refill when you light a torch.

To backwalk to Saria simply start holding L close to the wall with the ladder.

The jump to bombag trick consists just in using the exceeding part of the edge below the chest to jump and grab instead of grabing normaly.

I had no idea the stick refilled it's life after being lit. In that case, it isn't very hard at all!

Stick stamina was always reset when lighting a fire.

Is it faster to roll between that Torch and the wall just before going into that "warp" tunnel to lost woods?

Using a slow version on purpose is your choice, but you will get no sympathy or agreement from me.

If it is faster, then it is only by a fraction of a second.

Yeah but its still something. Also two things. Is there a consistent way to jump to that crawl hole using one milk box I miss it almost everytime wasting few secs. Also that backflip at the first baby dodongo room.

I was talking about the one next to the Goron, you can't get passed there. Wouldn't save very much regardless

There's a consistent way for the crate. Look directly at the hole and jump, and try not to let go of the Control stick. You should also give yourself some distance on the crate itself for a running start.

For that backflip, it's just memorization. For a few parts in the run, I try memorizing objects (scenery, torches) or patterns on the floor/wall so that when it comes into my view as I backwalk, it can show me when to either turn around or backflip

You can get past that torch... But lets just forget it. Does it save time to use the peahat to hess to the market. (probably not because of the weird egg wait). Do you have any tips about recording. (sorry about all these questions)

I usually get past that torch. You just have to sidehop. It may save 0.1 second.

No that doesnt save time because of the egg, like you said. A good way to record is to cut off the side of a card board box, and cut off a hole on the the top. Play the 3ds in the box and have the camera shoot through the hole. Keep lights around you and sound minimal. Soon there may be a 3DS capture device but it will probably be pricey...

It'd be cool if there were more places to superslide, like using the peahat or something! (places useful I mean)

One huge tip about recording is to make sure you're in a comfortable position. I sit cross legged and have a camera over the side of a desk or chair looking down at the 3DS in my lap.

So PedalPower, how have your runs been?
